if you wanna install player models you just put them into svencoop_addons > models > player and thats it, skins aren't client sided at least I think, it's just if you don't have it you see the orange helmet model showing that you don't have their skin same goes for them if they don't have your model, if the server or map have player models that it makes you download then you get some models, otherwise you can just get a player model pack of like 9k models.
You can find a mega playermodel pack in the guides. (unless it got removed)
It should contain most if not all model that people actually uses.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/sven-co-op/addons/peles
The pack isnt filled with just anime player models either only like 10% of it
I.. don't even.. what ??
A few models in the pack aren't even weeb like, the image threw me off when I wanted to just get those weeb models but turned out it was a pack.
tbh i dont even know why they called it that since there is only a small amount of anime skins in there and the rest is just random playermodels like FNAF, COD and CSS charaters etc. some of my models ive uploaded are in there too lol
You made some models? I'm curious which ones? and I'm unsure if I even have them as I like to keep my player models up to date so I don't see any with errors if they were fixed and to make sure I have every model so I don't see helmets everywhere, it's really annoying to see the whole server as helmets and you just sit there like "WHOS WHO?!"
Here are a couple of ones that I've rigged and uploaded that I've seen in the pack:
Choi-ji Yoon from CSO for SC 5.0
http://www.moddb.com/mods/sven-co-op/addons/cs-online-choi-ji-yoon-for-sven-co-op-50
Originally a normal HL1 playermodel but in the pack someone has converted it to SC 5.0 http://www.moddb.com/games/half-life/addons/halo-female-spartan-player-model
Yuri from CSO for SC 5.0
http://www.moddb.com/mods/sven-co-op/addons/cs-online-yuri-for-sven-co-op
I have done some weapons as well but that wasn't what you asked for so i wont link them unless you want me to. Also i can tell they are ones that i did by the way they were rigged.
I have a few other ones from in the works like alin, isabelle, alice and erika but they arent finnished yet once they are done i will be uploading them onto Moddb's sven coop page
This is what I got from reverse engineering, someone correct me if I miss something:
Sounds are attached to animations events, animations are defined in the .qc file. A server can download a playermodel to you but it doesn't check if it is the same.
If the server has a server side download of the playermodel without these sounds, you won't hear it if it is an, let's say, older version.
If the sound files has an absolute path defined in the .qc, you may not hear it either. Weird, since almost any models uses it, must be a server side thing too.
tl;dr: you don't have the same playermodel version than the server's, its sound files don't follow its path, or the models got overwritten by an old version. Download them again in the last case.
I indeed would like to see your other works, please share them, they look well done.
Thanks, well you can see all of my models and projects on my Moddb profile here:

you can get playermodels on gamebanana if you are wondering
or get the sven 5.0 playermodel pack (should be on the guides somewhere)
