Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition

Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition

This game is pretty easy on Damn I'm Good.
Don't know about you guys but I'm just breezing through on Damn I'm Good. Is it the game or am I really good? It's not that hard.

It's not too hard unless you take long and end up having to kill the enemeis that get back up. The enemies have the same AI and health/damage for all difficulties.

Or you could just be exploding dead bodies of enemies above pig cops, but I don't think there is enough ammo to "just breeze though" it, in which case you'd be cheating.
I have been doing nothing but exploding bodies, shrinking them, freezing them and letting the green alien thing eating the dead bodies.
Well okay, I guess it's easy if you manage to play efficiently. Not many people do.

Edit: And I guess the thing is that too many people rely on the shotgun and ripper throughout the whole game and save their big gun ammo for the final bosses of each episode. Personally I think it's unneccessary to save ammo for episode bosses because the developers put plenty of explosives in the boss rooms already.

I've had plenty of ammo, I never had an issue of running out. When I was at the final boss of shrapnel city I had 99 devastator ammo, 40 rocket launcher ammo, 28 pipe bombs, 99 freezethrower ammo, 50 shrink ray ammo.

There is enough ammo thrown at you to effectively destroy all bodies and still manage to have near max ammo up until the final boss.
I don't even speed run through, most of my times have been well over 10-30 minutes.
And then I like tricking enemies to stand on specific doors for a squish bonus so they never respawn again.

I find it incredibly hard when trying to speed run through but when you take your time destroying bodies it's pretty easy.
The respawning monsters don't make that much of a difference if you are quick on your feet.
It's harder if you're trying to speed run through. I just slowly make sure all bodies are destroyed.
Too bad it isn't like the N64 game where you can kick or shoot at dead bodies to make them gib. It would be so much easier if you didn't have to be using explosives all the time.
Freeze them and then kick to destroy the body.
Shrink and then stomp
Make one big pile of dead bodies and use a pipe bomb
Trick the fat flying guy to blow up the bodies
door squish bonus
Environmental explosives
blow up a cluster of enemies
Explode those flying metal things over a dead body.
use the green tiny alien blob thing to eat the bodies.

All of this I use to destroy bodies and advance to the next level without any problem. Also I never run low on ammo. The first level is always a ♥♥♥♥♥ because I don't have enough explosives but after that it's a cakewalk.

I always found Damn I'm Good annoying because I hate respawning enemies in every FPS, also I find it very bad how this was implemented to Duke 3D (exploding dead bodies? really? how boring is that?).

I recommend playing the game on Come Get Some: same amount of enemies as on DIG and no respawns.
I like playing on harder modes but this is just too easy for me. DOOM on harder modes is much harder.
You should give eDuke32 with the DukePlus mod a try. You have an option to enhance the enemy AI, and also an option to turn on random Supertroopers, makes for quite a challenge. Also, if you can track down that starship troopers mod from a few years back, (for Duke) very challenging.
Some of the older games seem quite easy now, even Doom/doom2 original levels seem a bit easy now.

If you breeze through this so easily, I REALLY want to see how you play. Any chance you might ever get fraps and start up a youtube channel? I'd subscribe to a pro like yourself :P
