I bought the DLC but there are items that say I need the DLC to use them..

How do I fix this issue? I bought the game and the DLC at the same time today but I don't seem to have access to any of the DLC content. Do I need to do something to activate it? Loving this game so far anyway.

The additional character is in the lodge (the one-armed ninja) all the way on the right. The added weapons and items still need to be unlocked. The additional monsters and rooms and stuff are all included by default. Have fun!!
