Afterfall InSanity Extended Edition

Afterfall InSanity Extended Edition

Developers refuses to acknowledge proper resolution support. Ignoring all pleas. Why?
The game needs real resolution support. 2560x1440 and 2560x1600 and other widescreen resolutions are not supported. The developers even locked the players out of tweaking the files themselves for resolution support. My monitor's native resolution is 2560x1600, and playing it at any other res makes the game look fuzzy and blurry.

There has been a few threads about this here, but it has gotten zero response or interest from the developers. I can only conclude that 1) They do not care about the players 2) They care less about the problems surrounding the game.

This whole ordeal has shown me that the Afterfall developers are nothing but an unhelpful bunch, and I will not be spending another dime on them.

edit:

I found a method to change the resolution at last!

Steam\steamapps\common\Afterfall InSanity\RascalGame\Config\DefaultGame.ini

Open it, find the line "#force graphic resolution" and change the lines underneath it. Here's what mine is:

#force graphic resolution
bForceResolution=true
ForceResX=2560
ForceResY=1600
bForceFullscreen=true

You can also change the FOV with DefaultCamera.ini

2560x1600??? If 1920x1080 is fuzzy and blurry I'd suggest a visit to the eye doctor.

I suggest you understand the technical side of monitors before you commend on such things. Look up what native resolutions are and how LCD TFT panels work with under different resolution environments.

Do you know how monitors work? (No, you don't)

depends on the type of monitor, cathode ray, Plasma, LCD.

and yes, I study IT at TAFE.

If you don't know the detrimental effects of using resolutions lower than the native one on LCD's, you're not a bright student.

Spewin about the resolution locked at 1080 - yea I run a 2560 x 1440 monitor. If the game is having trouble cause of native resolution - does adjusting your screen resolution to 1080 from windows help? I know its still not your 1600p but yeah these f**kin devs that lock games at 1080p in this day and age are shyt kunts.

I would much enjoy using my monitors native resolution as well.
I don't mind 1920x1080, but it does look a little awkward on a 1440p monitor.
The game makes the game and I enjoy the game itself; however I enjoy my eye candy as well.

god these steam forums are so vicious. im running the same res but honestly its not that big of a deal.

How about adjusting your driver settings? I know that I can set my AMD drivers to not upscale lower resolutions or fill the screen in its entirety. I can just let it add, you know, black borders all around and the game would still look as intended at the selected resolution without getting stretched or blurry.

You could also just play the game windowed if that's too much of a bother. I guess the game supports that, right?

You people are hilarious, it's a valid complaint and you're acting like he's asking for too much. sometimes, I hate the internet..

There's absolutely no reason to lock resolution. I'm on a PC; not a console and 2560x1600 is growing to be a more common resolution for people (and is a resolution I've been using for most of a decade, now). Every game should support both 16:10 and 2560x1600. Not supporting extended multi-screen resolutions are understandable since there can be support issues.

People whining about people wanting to run in native resolution are absurd. You do realize we're PC gamers, yes? PC gamers aren't particularly excited about the idea of having to compromise, when they've got horsepower and resources to spare. Playing in lower resolution is a poor compromise and playing windowed, even moreso (you do realize that SLI and Crossfire often don't work in windowed mode and resorts to a single GPU, right?).

At the very least, supporting 16:10 is necessary. Does this game support that or doe sit only support 16:9 resolutions? I'm glad I caught this thread, because I was about to purchase four copies during today's sale. Now, I probably won't.

And great for you, studying "IT". I'm a professional software engineer with almost twenty years of experience. Now that we have all of that meaningless garbage out in the open, can we get back to how not supporting all common resolutions and aspect ratios is ridiculous?

*sigh* 2560x1600 is *not* a common resolution. Stop being such a baby, 1080 is fine.

Read the thread before making stupid posts, thanks.
