Fallout: New Vegas

DEAD MONEY ALMOST MADE ME GO KILL MYSELF
IF you have this game with no dlc, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT BUY DEAD MONEY DLC. If you have the goty edition then DO NOT even start the mission that enables it. It is literally a living hell, id rather play call of duty with a bunch of 9 year olds while sitting on a poisonous cactis naked. IT is the most boring, tedious, and terribly implemented thing i think i have ever played, AND you cant leave once you start it, so you either finish the dlc or just stop playing New Vegas all together. BETHESDA, WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS???????????

You get used to it. It is gimmicky and frustrating, but also has a great story. I hated it like you do now, now it's getting close to be my second favourite DLC instead of HH.
bethesda just published this why do people not get that?
It's one of the best [OWB and DM are the best for me] DLCs for Fallout New Vegas. I can see Chris Avellone smiling when seeing your topic. Because he intended this DLC to be as hard as possible. Infact, according to a comment of his on the Obsidian Forum, it was intended to be even harder, but it was made easier by release. :)

There's a mod on the Nexus to skip it though.

So like did you not save at all before you started it? I mean there's 1000 save slots. I've been pretty much saving before I enter every town. Saving before a DLC would be kind of a no brainer.. complaint :denied:
as thorvathjr said, make a save (NOT quicksave) before starting a DLC so you can back off without using console commands

the only DLC area that you can exit whenever you want is the Divide in Lonesome Road, the other DLCs you have to complete in one sitting

It was a nice change of pace for me. I enjoyed it...
I quite enjoyed it now that I really think about it. My initial reaction was the same as yours after I finished it. But, it had great atmosphere, awesome characters, and the story was magnificent. HOWEVER, I bet whoever put those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ radios and speakers in the game are having a good little giggle at us. But overall, it was a nice experience. However, Old World Blues is my favorite DLC followed by LR.

Sidenote: I have fnv on CD. Probably with 500+ hours already put into it. Bought it on Steam during the summer sale just cuz.

I really appreciated Dead Money after my first time. Sure it's hard but it really teaches you to play smart. Dead Money forces you to actually sneak. I mean actually pay attention to your surroundings and sneak; none of that pop a Stealth Boy and run through the place.

Yes, that's very true. You have to sneak past alot of those ghosts because they'll wreck you.

The writers were inspired by the Treasure of the Sierra Madre, there is quite a bit of sub text in this dlc and its as creepy and un nerving as fallout has been so far.

Don't go in at a low level and treat it like survival horror and you will be just fine.
I think this is the only DLC that can be finished on level 1 or 2, since it does not rely on combat. The Ghost People are gimmicky (need explosives or critical limb hits to intakill them), the fog is a set thing, the radios too. And if you have more than 25 in Sneak you should be able to sneak past the Ghopst People, since their PER value is force-set to 0, meaning they cannot see or hear you in sneak mode unless you really spectacularly fail the Sneak check.

You forgot something. The Per 0 thingy, is bugged. And gives them max Per instead. However, you still can sneak past.
Ah. In this case it must have been fixed by MMUE or some other bugfix mod since I can sneak past them with no problem.
