Fallout: New Vegas

İstatistiklere Bak:
DXVK is a game changer in FNV
If you have a newer Videocard that supports Vulkan, I highly recommend installing the DXVK wrapper in to FNV. I went from 40-50fps in a heavy modded TTW + ENB install to a fully stable locked 60fps in all locations (that I have tested so far)

download the archive from here https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases
pull out the d3d9.dll and DXGI.dll and drop it in the root directory of Fallout New Vegas.
and go from there.

if you use enb, rename the new DLL to DXVK_d3d9.dll and edit your proxy settings as such

[PROXY]

EnableProxyLibrary=true
InitProxyFunctions=true
ProxyLibrary=dxvk_d3d9.dll

Edit: adding, found a fork of DXVK that uses async shader compiling, so its even better than before! :) https://github.com/Sporif/dxvk-async

Just letting people know. it helped my performance.. it might help others - the Gamebryo engine needs all the help it can get.
Yeah but how much more crash-happy is the game now? I couldn't even begin to imagine the Strip or Freeside at 60 fps haha.

ENB is pretty stable. It doesn't crash the game more then Gamebryo already does. You just have to make sure to turn everything (AA/AF/overlays/water displacement) off in the launcher. You actually need ENB's memory manager for large texture packs or else the game will crash.
I use Reshade unfortunately which installs its own d3d9.dll. Is there a work around for this?

I don't use reshade my self. Does reshade allow you to load a ProxyLibrary like EnB does?

if so, rename DXVK's DLL to DXVK_d3d9.dll and point the proxy lib to it.

Not sure how people have trouble getting 60 fps. Maybe if they play on a potato or something, but even my old windows 7 rig got 60 fps constant. Maybe 1 dip to 59 every now and again.

Now, stuttering is something I can understand and it will persist because of the way the game loads assets as you explore. I used to get it bad when I used HDD as a main drive, but now that I used NVMe and SSD only, I don't even get that.

Sorry I'm no help, but I'm at a loss for the purpose of all these fixes when I've never used any of them (except for the unofficial patch and 4gb).

Vulkan could potentially help with ultra res texture mods, and mods installed limits.
Merge mods and profit? I mean, I have a mod list in excess of 400 mods. Merged down to 122 plugins. Plays just fine. I think I've had like 15 crashes ever since I bought the game ages ago. At least 14 of those were mod conflicts.

Edit: The limit is 255 plugins, but most people, including myself, get issues at 200 mods. Gamebyro is weird in that regard, at least.

No, the game is heavily limited on the cpu side of things, and there are some situations where fps drops are inevitable.

Some (not all) of the harder spots can be brute forced nowadays, notably The Strip, as long as you're not looking purposely looking for the worst case viewing spot or running intensive mods.

But the fact of the matter is that the game makes your PC work harder than it should. Skyrim was the same way, and is why you can get better performance with identical hardware in the Special Edition, thanks to the upgraded engine.

You're talking about the render using a single thread. In Gamebryo's case, almost the entire game load is single threaded. Creation is able to split the load, but even FO76 still uses a single thread for the render.

Anyways, my frame loss was almost always a result of the way the game constantly loads assets as you explore. It was a huge issue when I used HDD as a primary drive in that I would have the entire game pause, for lack of a better description, for a couple seconds at times. Mainly on the strip or nearby was where it really hit.

Beyond that, I'm at a loss. Modern hardware is massively overkill. Even with it being single threaded.
Nah, places like The Villa, particularly that final section of it as you get to your spot for the Gala, are pretty much impossible to run at 60 fps, even if you do something really excessive like disable the lighting with TLB.
Then explain my constant 60 fps. Lmao.
People who insist they have "constant x fps" rarely actually do.

Also there's something to be said for needing hardware that's 10 years older than the game itself to get consistent performance.

I get 55-60 fps except in freeside and the strip where it dips to 50 sometimes but thats my own fault as I use freeside and strip open mods.
