I just realized I haven't been getting achievements for years
I was going through some games I play often to see if I wanted to just go and 100% one or two of them, and saw that I only had 34% of the achievements for New Vegas. I thought there was no way this could be possible, and I was right. I'm lacking achievements for things I've clearly done, I don't even have the achievement for entering Zion.

Is the script extender disabling achievements, or is something else going on?

If you use console commands, achievements are dissabled for that session.

Oh ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I often have to use console commands when mods bug out, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is the reason behind it.

Suggest manually installing any nvse mods.

If you are using TTW suggest getting quick start it skips the opening and a way to quickly test mods and such.

Edit this was meant for another thread oh well.

Edit 2 there is a mod i was using before playing with ttw was called https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/62922

You can also simply reload a previous save to fix the problem.

True, but using console commands to fix a bug then reloading afterwards just leads me back to using the console command again.

No, you use the console to fix the issue, quick save, then quick load; takes seconds.

That's assuming I knew about that workaround beforehand, when I didn't even know console use disables achievements. Still, I prefer just using the mod since it's a one and done type thing.

That mod is redundant if you have JIP-LN installed, which is a requirement for quite a few mods. JIP has the function built-in.

Don't think any of my current mods require it, but since it's something I might have to install in the future anyway I'll swap them out. Thanks for the tip!
