Fallout 3 wont work on windows 8???

I have windows 8 and Fallout wont work can someone help me fix this please?

Windows 7 and Vista users

Please make sure to run Steam as administrator and complete all processes outlined here.

If you are having trouble running Fallout 3 on Windows 7 please do the following:

1. Navigate to your Fallout 3 folder (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout 3)
2. Right click on fallout3.exe
3. Click Properties
4. Click on the Compatibility tab
5. Check the box "Disable desktop composition"
6. Launch Fallout 3 from the .exe or from Steam

if you get xlive.dll error then go to

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?xlive

and download the file then run it

Update: had to re-install windows next day, not sure if the xlive.dll caused the problem

Think I worked it out guys, download xlive for windows and install it, log in to xlive (you need a windows live account) try logging into game (seems you only have to log into xlive once) the link for xlive is http://pcsupport.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zTi=1&sdn=pcsupport&cdn=compute&tm=28&f=00&su=p504.6.342.ip_&tt=2&bt=1&bts=3&zu=http%3A/www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US/download/

I dont have a compatibility tab on windows 8 sorry :/

got it working thanks. loaded windows live. compatibility tab is in the game file.
