ANNOUNCEMENT: Miaschiev - Achievement Tracker (Bored Cartographer, Pyro, Light Reading, Head Statues)

I've created a utility to examine the Miasmata saved games to check the progress towards some of the achievements. In particular:

- Shows the progress to The Bored Cartographer* achievement and highlights any missing sections of the coastline.
- Shows the number of unique plants/fungi that have been collected for the Botanical Bad A** achievement.
- Shows which urns have been lit so far and which are still missing for the Pyro achievement***.
- Shows how many notes have been collected for the Just doing some Light Reading* achievement.
- If it detects that the glitched Sanchez #1 note has been picked up but was not added to the journal it gives the option to reset the note so it can be picked up again from the camp where it was originally found. Be sure to also install the unofficial community patch* to fix the note.

- Shows which head statues have been mapped and which are still missing for the That's a lot of Head Statues achievement****.
- It can reset one of the head statues once they have all been revealed in case the achievement didn't unlock.

* These achievements require the unofficial community patch to unlock, available from here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/223510/discussions/0/648812916771880184/

** The Botanical Bad A** achievement requires a binary patch to fix it - this used to be a separate patch, but is now bundled with the unofficial community patch v1.2 and later.

*** For the Pyro achievement it displays all the "urns" listed in the saved game without cross-checking them against the Markers file. For some reason a few camp fires also show up in one of my saves, but not any others. I'm not sure what's going on there, but that might be related to why some people have reported that they need to light camp fires as well as Urns to get the achievement.

**** The That's a lot of head statues achievement will only unlock if the final head statue is revealed by triangulating it as a distant landmark. Revealing the final statue by surveying the nearby land when triangulating your position or by picking up a map fragment will not unlock it and prevent it from being unlocked. In that case, use the "Reset one statue..." button to allow one of the statues to be revealed again.

This is ACE! The bits of coastline I needed for the Bored Cartographer Achievement weren't visible on the map in-game, and I was tearing my hair out trying to find the gap. But when I booted up DarkStarSword's utility, there they were! Two tiny fragments of coast, clear-as-day! Thanks to this I've now cleared this last Achievement! Miasmata maxxed!

Just gave this a go with my GOG-bought version, and it works! (I just assumed it would only work with Steam versions. Dunno why.)

The problem now is that my map (which after 45 days triangulating looked pretty much complete to me) actually has about 20 tiny areas which haven't been covered.

Curse my OCD tendencies.

I think I may actually override my OCD tendencies this time and just be happy with what I've done. Part of me wants to see the map in Miaschiev with no red marks at all, but another (and, I think, healthier) part of me says there are probably more useful things to do with my life... :)

Thanks for this utility! I needed a reason to go back to the islands as a healed man. Found the slivers of coastline I was missing and completed the bored cartographer, now all that's left is a lot of head statues. I looked while finishing the cartographer achievement but cannot see what I have missed. Will search a bit more then wait for a head-count feature on miaschiev.

It's possible you might have found all of them, but the achievement didn't unlock - there's a bug that means it will only unlock if the final head statue is located by triangulating it as a distant landmark. Revealing the last statue by triangulating your position while near it or picking up a region map prevent the achievement from unlocking.

I want to add a feature to Miaschiev to reset a single head statue so it can be triangulated again, thereby allowing the achievement to be unlocked without having to start over. Now I've pushed out v1.1 of Miasmod I'll come back and work on adding that to Miaschiev.

My "Mental stimulant" bugged achievement brought me to your advices & patchs. I resolved it and discovered the others bugs.

I followed the achievements list advices, I have lighted every light sources (not only the urns but the camps fire, candles & lamps in the tents) and completed the "Pyro" achievement.
And I have read your Head Statue advice just before discovering my last one. So I was cautious to triangulate it and not to put it in my revealing circle. ;)

Finallly, with your utility, I have found the invisible little cloud (just 1 point left !) that blocked "The Bored Cartographer."
Also, I have reloaded my Sanchez note #1 and completed the "Light Reading" achievement.

Now, only my "7 Days" and "3 Days" achievements remain. Not tested yet :P
