makes the controls seems like crap, seriously it's like 20 times harder to move around in this game. I didn't die in like my first 8 hours in skyrim 'cause you can actually move the guy around, in this game i've died about 8 times on the first goblins, because backpledaling and strafing move at about 1/20th the pace, like how do you get out of the way of that stupid goblin mage's crap?

i am mostly a console player and playing this with keyboard and mouse if that's a reason, but the fact that the guy moves like a snail there doesnt seem to be anything i can do about

C is right next to spacebar how can you not press it? where the hell do you place your thumb ;b, Anyways you can change the controls personally i put spacebar to jump, e to action button, and cast to q, and you cant strafe as fast cause this is a proper rpg and you have to level up to get better so in your case speed to move faster.

yeah, i'm not sure how it's supposed to be easy to use my thumb and hit C but whatever I'll just chalk that up to I'm not used to keyboard controls and it'll come to me, but besides that i guess your point that it's a proper rpg and he sucks at first and will level up later is a decent point that makes sense

it's probably a mixture of not liking keyboard controls and how much shockingly harder it is to actually navigate this tank of a character around. i'll just stick with it

let's not even get into the whole 'skyrim mouse linearity not being the same for X and Y' thing making mouse movement uncomfortable by comparison to literally every other game made in the last fifteen years

You move ridiculosuly slow at the star, especially in heavy armour. This game has a speed stat you ned to increase if you want to go faster.

The only thing I wish is that oblivion had native controller support because most of my time was spent on xbox and it just makes more sense for a game like this in my opinion . I should note that I'm never an archer at which point it makes sense to sit at a desk. Oblivion and skyrim are noobish games when compared with morrowind if your complaining about difficulty. Otherwise there not bad games. If your struggling go into the options and turn it down.

Skyrim wasn't a bad game by far but lack any real feel of a medieval game like Oblivion did.. I started playing Oblivion back in 2008 on my xbox360 and it was something I put that part of my life in.. The game came out in 2006 but i was a bit late like with fallout 3.. Start playing that in 2010 and yet again was just swell.. I can say to this very day that Fallout 3 and Oblivion are still my favs of all time and 3rd coming in with Fable 2.. Yes the controls are terrible on the pc and not fun at all but trying to enjoy it as it once was 4 me back in the late 2000s

The spells take the path that you were straffing into. Move in one direction and as soon as it comes out of the staff move the opposite direction.

Just in case you didn't know (nobody mentioned it), press caps lock.

A lot of older games have running/sprinting (aka moving at full speed) turned off by default. This is one of them.

I agree that the default controls are hard to use unless you're a hand contortionist, but there's an options menu and it's an easy fix. Click on "jump" and set it to space. It'll automatically set "use" to "E" as well, so you've got Skyrim controls. As for casting, set it to "Q". I just started playing it on PC recently (360 was where I played originally) and had to set it like that. It's a million times better.
