The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

I hope I use the correct english words, since I got the german version. Anyway, I got problems to comprehend how enchanting works. I have got soul stone and I have got soul spell scrolls. But I can't seem to be able to use the scrolls. I can open and read them, but there are just some meaningless runes, and my only option is to close the scroll again. I can't use it, even more I can't use it on some creature - which is required, because else their souls won't go to the soul stone when I kill it. Somebody got a step per step description how to do it?

From how I remember it;

You can only enchant with "SPELLS" you know how to cast....but you can buy items which contain spells you else would not know :)

Be aware that you need a """hight skill in enchantment" in order to if you want something very an enchanter to do it until your skill is above 60.

Yes, I don't know the spell - that's why I wanted to use scrolls. If I need a high skill in enchantment that's fine with me. But the problem is: I can't even fail, because I can't try. At least I've got no idea how. How am I expected to improve my enchantment skill if I can't try enchanting?

Yea...but spell from scrolls is just like 1 time might not know the spell itself, and then you can not make enchantment from need to buy it, so you know it in your spell book in order to use it for enchantments. :)

Hm. You can't use a scroll if you don't know the spell? Then why bying scrolls anyway? And, by the way, that means a non-magical character can't use any scrolls at all?

By the way: I just bought the spell knowledge of soul trap in the mages guild of Balmora - but still can't use the according scroll ...

You must put it in your item slot,(1,2,3.....) just like an enchanted item you will use....

Remember; you can use enchanted items that contain spell you don't know, it is only when you shall make an enchantment yourself that you need to know the spell.

Scrolls are used like potions, they are not for enchanting.

Hello all,Here's a simple explanation of enchanting and getting the most out of it. Step 1: If you use enchanted equipment constantly like rings of healing etc. your exp. will increase gradually just through going out of the way to use them often.Also raid tombs for Bonelords and Bonewalkers,they almost always drop Soul Gems.The Bonelords usually drop common soul gems and the Bonewalkers lesser or petty soul gems.Using soul gems to recharge your equipment is obviously the fastest way to do this w/o "PAYED" training. Step 2: Keep unenchanted items, weapons,and armor to purposely enchant them.It does not have to even be a useful enchantment.Just enchant it sell it rinse and repeat. The use of scrolls:If you plan on using scrolls,remember to select it in your spellbooks list of spells.The scrolls are usually at the very bottom of said list then target and cast it.Another thing to remember about scrolls is that:Yes they may be only "one use" but "never fail",unless you somehow misuse it. If anyone has any questions about Morrowind or Oblivion for that matter don't hesitate to ask me.I know alot about these games and am willing to share my hands on knowledge of them.Have a good one all :) .
