Insurgency
Best remote (rcon) admin tool?
Hi,
I'm hosting a Insurgency server on a remote machine (win). Normaly I'm using HLSW to manage my rcon-based servers remotly. But atm HLSW doesn't work for me. Are there any other good tools for remote administration?

I've tried stuff like putty, AllSeeinEye, Cerebro, Rusty but none of those tools works. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Here is what i use, seems to work fine so far. http://bwravencl.de/files/applications/rcon-duke.htm
EDIT: Can this be stickied? This is a question im sure alot of server admins have, and Sourcemod effectiveness is pretty limited in this game

So glad I came across this. Any remote consoles?
I rolled my own with the help of this: http://www.ruckman.net/downloads-1 (ruckman rcon source php)

I can log in, and I can use many commands like status, help, kick, etc. What I can not do is exec something. e.g. when I try to issue a server.cfg change via "exec private" the java consoles says:

"SteamCondenser Exception."

on the remote machine this error isn't printed, and if I use the exact same wording "exec private" directly on the remote machine it works. What am I doing wrong?

Google gives me many posts about something might be broken in the api.

I'm using a modified version of SRCDS.py, a Python command line tool.
You can grab my copy here[dl.dropboxusercontent.com].

I have made 1 modification to the version available from SourceForge, I have added the RCONPORT variable, as the stock version is bound to port 27015 which is not practical.
HLSW actually works for this game, it just takes a small modification to make it work. Close HLSW, open the Query.cfg file (C:\Program Files (x86)\HLSW\cfg\Query.cfg) and change the following:

['SteamAppIds'] = "0-199";

to

['SteamAppIds'] = "1-199";

Once you reopen HLSW it will let you use RCON commands with no issues.
Making that modification to that HLSW file works - Thanks!!!

This is a really nice php rcon tool. I'm looking for something like this but with a window or tab to follow the chat?

thx
how can i download the metasource for hlsw ? i will set a high ping max
I use QTRACKER (http://qtracker.com/) which is a very old Gameserver Browser for certain older Games. Although it doesn't recognize Insurgency, it does recognize HL2. So I change the path to my hl2.exe to the path & .exe of Insurgency and I can add Insurgency Servers making it look like i add HL2 Servers.

Then I can use rcon commands & track who's on the server. Works fine. You can't join the Server through that tool because of that it thinks the Servers are HL2, but it works great for RCON.

Thanks for this Wolfseye. I've tried it out and rcon works fine!
Glad it works for you. ;)
