Suddenly crashing?

My game has updated three times today, and now it won't stop crashing. Is there a possibility the game is just corrupt? I do keep it on an external drive because my laptop didn't have much space

The game hasn't had an update in years, so you mentioning it updating is likely due Steam checking cloudsaves. Perhaps something went wrong there and the files got corrupted, a complete fresh install is probably your best bet to fix it.

If things persist try switching to the FNA version of the game, its less memory intensive and generally more stable, you can find it under the betas for the game

Oh, thank you very much. I figured the game hadn't updated in a while, and I was thrown off by it doing that regularly throughout the day. Hopefully, that fixes it. Thanks again!

Have you been able to fix it? I've the same issue and a reinstall doesn't fix it for me...

Hi guys i had same problem.. shuting down windows windows defender solved the issue for me...

Yeah it eventually stopped and I was able to play it fine. I have no idea what went wrong. I uninstalled it, and then reinstalled it on an external drive and it seemed to fix it

Try to allow it in WD ransomware if its blocked. it seems to work for me atm.

no crashs after 2 days.
