What they're looking to do is to add an option to toggle on/off aim assist and mouse acceleration. Not sure how the menu option will be presented, but the end goal is to give mouse users a more direct and neutral feel.
Great, thanks. I hope you listen fans feedback of the game's price too $50 is so much. But there is nothing you can do about this right now sadly. :(
The other factor in the cost is development on multiple platforms (time and effort of the development team to code in 3 different platforms, testing etc..) I am sure the cost is pretty justified for that type of work especially when porting from the 3DS.
All console games are already $60. I don't know what RE:R's price on consoles but if it is $50 like PC that is good for them. But on PC, this price is high. I can understand $40 but $50 for an old game just with high resolutions, it is not fair. Just look Brutal Legend, Resident Evil 6, Alan Wake and other examples. They came to PC but with fair price. RE6's price was also very fair. With releasing digital game you are not spending case money, shipping money etc. Only Steam takes the cut.
Capcom must thought about this, I don't who is working on their marketing department but that is really bad pricing policy for PC. I hope he/she will understand his/her mistake for later Capcom games on PC.
It is $50 across the board, and I do understand where you are coming from but those are the prices set. Objectively, let us look at another title, Bioshock Infinity which currently on Steam for $59.99 (the same price for other consoles). Let us eliminate all pre-order bonus tied to that game from all platforms, and now objectively, what would make me as user buy Bioshock Infinity on Steam? It is still $60 and is more expensive than RE:R, should not this be priced at $40 or $50 since it is a digital version? Or is it because the PC version considered the "superior" version because it can push the graphics to the limits compared to the console hence justifying the price?
Does this apply to RE:R? I can't say because I did not do a graphical compare between consoles vs. PC to give an opinion on it. In the end the marketing and sales teams of game companies set the prices to be equivalent for all regardless of distribution method or bonuses. If people want deals and discounts they will do their best to get them (GMG as an example).
Something about this should be stickied - it's a pretty big deal.
I have a feeling that even with target assist and mouse acceleration disabled it'll still be kind of goofy, but it's so hard to sell since those two features are so aggressive currently that it may as well just ignore your input altogether sometimes.
I doubt it'll happen but maybe we'll be lucky and the patch will hit both before release and apply to the demo but I find that highly unlikely. It'll probably be well after release.
Normally in these situations I'd wait to see where the preorder bonus goes, if it hits tier 3 I'd buy the game as a gift and sit on it to see what people say about the patch and claim it or trade it/refund it accordingly. This is the first time I've been iffy on even doing that.
