you have to understand, Warlock has very bad single target dps compared to other chars, but his screen controll is probably the best of all.
He has very high base pierce, his projectiles do their own stuff and kill things and you can beef his base damage to insane heights, plus you can summon 4-5 ghost every 0.5 seconds.
Warlock is one of those, where you have to understand how to build a char properly.

To compensate his lack of single target dps, just use Transfixion.
Or beef him up with Astronomer's Orbs and Summons.
He is a beast...
