Major game breaking bug

Wtf. I have reached the level where there is a guard dog. I have researched and that is supposed to be the twin's level. I don't even have the twin's with me. I have done the knight and the Hillbilly level, just done the mine carts and I only had the time traveller level to go. Why am I stuck in the twin's level? Obviously this means my game is bugged now, as I need the twin's to solve puzzles. This game clearly wasn't tested properly.

Please stop posting as "game braking bug" when you're just stuck...
Search in the sewers there's the entrance to the time traveler level.

I read that somebody the other day suffered this bug, so figured I'd been affected by it. Then I saw a guard dog, so figured I was in the twin's level.

You pass by the other character's locations, but don't play them. You only truly explore the locations of the characters you selected. Do what DonSeismo said and bypass the Twins' location through the sewers.

oh didn't know that. I saw the twins house, so figured I was in the wrong level. Nvm disregard this.
