What's the point of releasing linux version if there is no change? I admit I didn't even try to download the driver myseff, I didn't even check if the link works. Just posted the link. It's quite trusted site that gave the link. I am just saying that I may be fooled.

At least this driver works with Xorg 1.13? Because i try the driver 13.1 and my screen stays purple on startup. I have ubuntu 12.10 and a hybrid hd radeon 5650 with radeon 4250.

To install Catalyst 13.1 you have to disable Radeon HD 4250 via BIOS (call to HP every day if there is no such option). Otherwise you can use only Catalyst 13.1 Legacy on Ubuntu 12.04 or FOSS driver on Ubuntu 12.10 or newer. Also you may use DRI_PRIME for offloading rendering with FOSS driver (you need update Ubuntu 12.10 from Xorg Edgers PPA; don't forget to purge this PPA before upgrade to 13.04).

I installed the AMD Catalyst 13.2 beta3 today on my LM14 64bit machine with HD6700 graphics at 1920x1080 res. This is DEFINITELY the best driver yet! I have only tried TF2beta on the gnome classic (no effects) desktop. The game ran very well once I got it started. I had some trouble with hangs during launch, but I was able to quit using xkill, and relaunch. During the second try, TF2beta would hang at load waiting for buttons and text to load over the background, but I used alt+tab to switch back to the desktop and then back to TF2beta and that surprisingly solved my problem. I was able to fix the hang after changing graphics settings the same way in the middle of a game. I was able to put graphics settings up to medium for most things, but I did not try AA or high filtering settings. I have to say, the AMD drivers have come a long way in just a few months. I hope the trend continues!!

NOTE: be sure to follow this guide when trying different open source or propriety drivers <http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Quantal_Installation_Guide#Removing_Catalyst.2Ffglrx>. I managed to royally f*ck up my system and this guide was the only thing that saved me from having to reinstall my OS. Also, going back to open source drivers never worked well for me after installing any of the AMD propriety drivers.

I just played Counter-Strike:Source for about an hour with settings all the way up including AA. It ran like butter, and probably better than windows ever ran it. Now I haven't played CS much lately, but I have 87 hours logged for it and this is the best experience so far! The only problem, is that I could not get my mic to work. It works on steam, but not on CS:Source, but that is not an AMD driver problem.

Just installed 13.2 beta3 and TF2 is now playable with all settings set to highest quality and vsync enabled (haven't tried AA yet) whereas before all settings needed to be on low. 300% performance increase indeed !

decided to try it out. downloaded it, installed it, incresed graphics, got beter fps.

seems to have fixed my random drops in FPS on Half-Life. I now get ~600FPS.
Serious Sam 3 still runs like a dog with 2 legs though.. I gave up on it and uninstalled... Waiting for HL2 instead.

I just tested out Trine 2, and I had graphics up to high on 1920x1080 with no problems. However, the game randomly minimizes for no reason about every 10-20 minutes. Also, there are a few moments of scrambled pixellated colors before some loads. Definitely an improvement and nearly as good as Windows 7 for Trine 2 now! Keep it going!

I just installed this, and it actually cut my framerate in half in most situations, even after turning down the settings. I can get 60FPS when I look at the floor, but I used to get 50-60 pretty consistently before.

Has someone tried Killing Floor? I'm using 13.1 and I have to play it at lowest settings, and there are still horrible frame drops.

Maybe you should turnoff tearfree. I have got an ATI HD 5670 with 1 GB and the game runs fine. I could even play Killing Floor with Intel HD 4000 and Mesa 8.0.5 - that game runs nearly everywhere...
