The .sh does attempt a "second pass" setup, using dpkg (so it fails on Fedora) and gksudo (= it wants root). In addition to not being portable, this is also totally unacceptable.

The two games should be removed from Steam until the developers package their libraries properly IMO.

That happens when just one platform beeing targeted.
I guess you can go and hack the script. but for me it needs an dependency thats not in my distro at all.
My personal Preference would be that they build Linux software all against Debian Squeeze to maintain backwards compatibly while working on most distros.
