Issue Report: Steam is leaving unmapped stray windows
For example:
xwininfo: Window id: 0x280001e "Steam Login"

Absolute upper-left X: 750
Absolute upper-left Y: 424
Relative upper-left X: 750
Relative upper-left Y: 424
Width: 420
Height: 352
Depth: 24
Visual: 0xa8
Visual Class: TrueColor
Border width: 1
Class: InputOutput
Colormap: 0x280001d (not installed)
Bit Gravity State: NorthWestGravity
Window Gravity State: NorthWestGravity
Backing Store State: NotUseful
Save Under State: no
Map State: IsUnMapped
Override Redirect State: no
Corners: +750+424 -748+424 -748-422 +750-422
-geometry 420x352+750+424

They still show up in awesome wm's window list, but are always in an unmapped state.
Edit, in response to the reply below: This happens consistently for every opened and then closed window.

Menus etc. also seem to leave unmapped windows but they don't show up as tasks, I guess something in the EWMH or other hint sections is the problem.

Debian wheezy/amd64, awesome 3.4.13-1

Do you have a way to consistently cause this to happen?

I'm seeing this with awesome as well. Clicking the 'x' close button in the top right corner results in this behaviour. For instance, opening the Friends window then clicking its close button.

I get the same effect as well with my Steam login window after it's closed.

Using awesome 3.4.13-1 on Arch x64.
