Trine 2 - controler issue.

I have tried Trine 2, plays very well for the most part, but I tried it with the PC XB360 controller (wired) and played very well but Zoya wont release the grappling hook. But she does jump on the same bottom (A).

I have Ubuntu 12.04 and a X2 4850e

I usually play with the keyboard and mouse but I tried this. After grappling, the only way I could let go was to use the right stick for shooting arrows. Is this a bug or is it meant to be this way?

I think it is a bug, IIRC it even says to press A to release.

I am using a Logitech F510 wired gamepad in X mode, which causes the controller to come up as an xbox controller. I have to use jstest-gtk to calibrate the axises, this includes the two anaolg sticks and the analog triggers. I had a similar issue before I calibrated the analog triggers: I think the game does not properly recognize when the triggers are released/pressed or inbetween. Download jstest-gtk from the software center and you can easily calibrate your gamepads.

I've tried to calibrate my gamepad using KDE's own calibration in System Settings, but the result remains the same. The problem is the jump button (A) not releasing the hook, this button is either pressed, or it's not, there's no in-between. If the rope isn't tied, you can jump, if the rope is tied, you can't let go of it with the jump button.

Thanks but the controller works fine, but it just dont release the hook, but it does jump...

I had the same problem.
You have to set the button for jumping from the hook in-game in the controller settings. For some reason it was missing. You can simply set it to the same button as normal jumping....works perfectly after that.

You are right, that fixed it. I didn't notice the N/A on the rope jump until I read your post.
