I have to play it in Wine on lowest possible settings, 800x600, 15-20fps.

I see Boomer ... lag ... Boomer vomited on me ... lag ... zombies everywhere ... lag ... I'm called noob and kicked from the server.

I also waiting for a native Linux version. I know, it will still take some time.

I got l4d2 work pretty well thru wine when it comes to performance (of course, not with top settings as I can in windoze), but the major problem is sudden crashes, which is why i must use windows :/ But really looking forward for native stuff, pity I need to be patient ;]

It's strange. Wasn't L4D2 one of the first Steam games to be tested on Linux?

I've heard that it was planed to release L4D2 and Serious Sam with the Beta. But then they decided for Team Fortress

I would also like to see L4D2 on linux. It's the game I often play with friends. Works well on wine, but there are some issues.

L4D2 works pretty well for me under wine. Max settings, no crashes. Still I wondered why after so many talkings about L4D2 in Valve Linux Blog it was put aside. Maybe they decided that TF2 as a team-only game would bring more people.

I get perfectly fine performance in Wine. Could be your hardware.

+1. :) Takes too much to learn how to play it. I only hope there'll be bots (when last I looked long ago there weren't).
