Steam for Linux

Did Steam Linux Beta officially open today? NVidia kinda said that
"Available for download at www.geforce.com, the new R310 drivers were also thoroughly tested with Steam for Linux, the extension of Valve's phenomenally popular Steam gaming platform that officially opened to gamers starting today."

I've read the same thing elsewhere but I am sure it wouldn't be so quiet here if they had already released the beta...

Haha, ♥♥♥♥ing Nvidia.

Still, I agree. I doubt it's actually been released yet. There's no buzz.

I sure do hope that he is an employee of sorts - my heart will be broken if I don't get to participate in this beta!
Nevertheless, to those that do get accepted, whether they have found out already or not, I wish you well and also congratulations!

Just be sure to keep your back to the wall...

Whether any of us get in or not, I think that when the beta launches, we will know.

Quite a lot of Humble Bundle games, I see.
There's more in the pipeline: http://marlamin.com/cdr/search.php?s=linux&searchby=os shows games that are tagged with linux support. Note how it mentions Crusader Kings 2, which isn't in the store yet under linux :)

Anyone have any idea when these new drivers will make it to ubuntu update? Or will I have to install manually?
