Steam for Linux

Some help? All distros, Nvidia 3.10 or up crash when running Kernel 3.7 or up steam games
Title says it all really. Nvidia 3.10 drivers or the 3.13, not matter what distro, when I run games via steam with the 3.7 kernel or up, the game works for 5 minutes or so, then a short sound loop, freeze and game crashes back to the desktop.

Fall back to a 3.5 kernel, this problem doesn't happen. I've tried OpenSuse, Ubuntu, and now Manjaro. XFCE, KDE, and Unity for desktop environments. The problem seems to lay with the 3.7 kernel but I can't figure out why?

Maybe something with the nvidia drivers ?

No problems here openSUSE 12.3, KDE, (3.7 kernel) but with catalyst drivers.

Thing is, I can't find other people complaining about this issues and can't figure out why only with 3.7 and up for me while 3.5 works fine..

Are the nvidia drivers meanwhile compatible "as they are" with 3.7 kernel ?
Google tells me there are (or where) some things not working right with the installer and there are patches around to get it working.

At least im just working since 2 hours getting AMD drivers working on 3.8 kernel :/

edit:
probably let at least temperaturs (plus fan speed would be good) monitor. Perhaps something the fan speed control is messed up and it just gets too hot. At lest that would explain why its running some minutes fine

I'll see about temps and maybe there's a fan control program I can use...
