Keyboard not working in Overlay

While playing some games, Steam overlay does not recognize all keyboard input. Not able to type into address bar, use 'CTRL + F' search function, etc.

Arch Linux-x86_64, NVIDIA driver: 325.15.

  • Open game (I have tested TF2, Awesomenauts, CS, CS:S, DoD:S, Hotline Miami, Mark of the Ninja
  • Use keyboard shortcut to open Steam overlay
  • Type into address bar or use search function

Unable to type or use the keyboard while Steam Overlay is present.

Utilise the keyboard while using the Overlay.

  • Mouse input works without problems
  • When copying from an external browser, using 'CTRL + V' works
  • Not all games are affected. Eg., Euro Truck Simulator works fine

Thank you for your help.

I should also mention, the chat function does not work either.

Can confirm the same issues on my 64-bit Arch Linux. Typing into chat windows outside of overlay does not work, but attempting to type in chat windows with overlay on games (such as DOTA 2) does not work.

I am having this issue with my Arch Linux 64-bit in L4D2 and Dota 2. Has anyone found a solution to this? I didn't have this issue on Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit.
