Steam for Linux

Just switched from windows 8.1, need some recomendations
Could not be happier at my choice. Games are running so much faster, and my OS looks so much more clean.

Anyways, I'm looking for FPS's that are like COD/TF2. Just fast paced and all.

Not my type of games, but the free and open-source Warsow, which is often used for benchmarking on Linux, seems to fit your bill perfectly...

Speed and movement is what Warsow is all about. Like a true cyberathlete you jump, dash, dodge, and walljump your way through the game. Grab power-ups before your enemy does, plant a bomb before anyone sees you, and steal the enemy’s flag before they know what is going on!

P.S. Congrats on the bold move to Linux. It may not always be faster or cleaner looking, but at least you'll get to know how the things actually work much better.

Oh, and the other "usual suspect" for benchmarking, Xonotic, seems also to be of the "fast-paced FPS" type...

Thanks! In case your wondering I'm using Zorin OS 9 as a distro. Its a lot like Ubuntu, just a theme I like and lots of extras that I liked as well.

This is indeed useful information, thanks! Haven't yet look at that distro, but it seems a good candidate for switching to -- for those of my friends and colleagues whom I find still hard to convince that Linux is quite a viable system for the desktop too, not just for servers. :)

I didn't yet find what I'm looking for, but perhaps it helps you nevertheless:

This distro is perfect for former windows users. Similiar UI.

I love Quake live, but you need to use wine now to play :(, but its really fast paced and competitive, I've added it as a non steam game in native steam, so i get all the overlay features while i play :)

www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming is much better source of any information about this than Steam forums.
