Patch Notes - 5.4 (Live) Discussion
Patch 5.4 has now moved from Open Beta to Live! We are very excited to bring these changes to the full community and thank you to everyone who participated in the Open Beta. Your feedback and assistance has been essential to ensuring our desync rates have improved and we really appreciate your patience as we continue to work together. The new discussion thread can be found here and we look forward to hearing what you think and collecting your feedback!

The following items have been addressed in this 5.4 Live update:

Stability Fixes:
  • Loading into game should no longer desync if a player has not received the correct update to their World Time setting.
  • Gameplay should no longer desync if a player has missed the update to their World Time setting. If a player has missed the update we now provide additional time for the player to receive that update.
  • Encountering a DX9 memory crash should now bring up a popup and allow the player to proceed rather than crashing to the desktop.

Community Focused Bug Fixes:
  • Lock teams should function correctly for custom campaigns.
  • Allied positions are no longer unintentionally revealed for custom campaigns.
  • Population limit is now respected in scenarios.
  • AI colours should now appear correctly in custom scenarios.
  • Colour settings in multiplayer should now appear correctly in custom scenarios.
  • Berber Camels should now function correctly after loading into a saved game.
  • Berber Camels should now regenerate correctly in a recorded game.
  • Viewing the Tech Tree in Spanish should now be formatted correctly.

1. Dracula mission 5: Turkish enemies have wrong colors. All of them should be purple(according to the hints and the previous missions) but they are not. They are blue, orange, ect.

2. Cyprus: Wrong colors again. Both Cyprus and Isaac Komnenos should be teal(according to the hints), but they are purple and gray instead.

This two ^^ would take like 1 minute to fix, yet they are still there... :P

3. El Cid mission 1: The enemy monk always take the relics that you should get later if you visit that place. As for this bug, we are agree to disagree, but as for me, I have completed this one in the original at least 500 times, NEVER did that. + Tested it recently in the original several times, even if the enemy scout finds those relics, the monk won't take them. So even If I accept that it can happen in the original as well(then it must be really really rare, since it never happened to me), it still happens in HD EVERY time. So its clearly not working fine. AND one more thing, this happened in the distant past in hd before(you can find it in one of the old patch notes), but the devs fixed it, it only appeared again recently. Not game breaking, but still an issue.

wow is this the full nocturnes list? if so good job on making it smaller


will install the patch tonight and try the new performance tomorrow, nice to see updates^^

Just wait. It may grow. I haven't played too much age2 for a while. :)

Anyway, I often notice stuttering during scrolling. I didn't have that before. :P

i had that too once, try turning inertia to full, then to off and then to what you had before ( for me 0) that fixed it for me

no idea what causes it though

will the lag ever get fixed? if there are too many units or too many units on the map in multiplayer the game starts lagging really bad...

I agree with you, will this be fixed? Because otherwise I made a big mistake buying this game...

Seems like my version was updated automatically but my friend's did not. Now we're not able to play together because of "different versions". How do we solve this? He's already tried removing his cache files.

Try disabling any betas.

Opt out of betas, and if that's already done make sure to verify the game cache. It's likely that one of you are using the launcher work around.

If you are using the work around then you will need to re-apply it after the verify.

The patch is nothing special, the game continues to play bad. Most of them are just trifles. When is the next beta?

Your new patch apparently doesnt work....two straight games....two straight DESYNCs....one at the beginning and one forty minutes in.

The one at beginning, is that first screen desync, or played couple minutes before desync.
