DayZ
Inventory bug with full backpack
it seems if you have several boxes/cases an your backpack is full up , maybe with one or two slots free , that some times items get deleted when logging on to a server ?? . i feel the game knows what you had item wise when you loged off but it does not remmber how the items where stacked in the backpack , thus like a kid trying to put the square brik in the round hole it doesnt fit an just deletes your item ,,,,,, i have lost several ammo boxes and protector cases in my time in dayz ,,,,,,, can be annoying if it destroys all the ammo for your main weapon

Sucks. I've not had this. I get slots that become unusable. If the server reset close to your logout and you had just dropped and picked up all that stuff for some reason, it might have just not saved. There is a few minutes before a reset where you don't see the message and it doesn't save.

Protector cases sometimes disappear when full, especially if you stack them. Same for the ammo box, it's a bad idea to fill it 60 x 8.
Different servers can also not remember your inventory very well. Try to stay within the BI hive and the loss of items seems to stop.

Servers don't remember your inventory.

Your inventory is remembered by the hive.

But glitches happen.

Only lost a sawed-off shotgun. I am ok with this, but it should be fixed.

Sorry ... I meant the server companies. Had it happen as well at the start.
ITS ALL ABOUT HOW YOU STACK IT IN YOUR BAG.....soz caps.....

put the biggest items in first and then the smaller ones.....
when you log in if the smaller item are first in your bag they'll start taking up slots and you wont have a 2x2 slot to fit a box case or first aid kit in....

my girlfriend used to have this issue a lot.... as she would always arrange her bag from the bottom.... then when she logged back in the items were stacked from the top... with some things missing if her bag was full...

i have never had this happen as i put big items in first then add the small ones in the bottom and sides.....

+1

Its called "inventory tetris" and it goes similar to this exaple. Imagine you found a pristine backpack, and yours is badly damadged. If you repalce your backpacks, so the full one is on the ground, and the new one on your back, you start duble klicking the items in the old backpack (to pick them up). You move from top left to botom right order. now, if your old backpack was not 100% full, AND not arangedproperly, you will end up with not enough space for all your items. EXAMPLE: last item is a ammobox (2x2) but you only have 4x1 spaces left. It gets deleated. EXAMPLE2: last item is a 60mag (1x2) but you only have 3x1 places.

So, its not a random bug, its basicly players fault. (you can prevent it 100% of times) Allways arange your gear from top left to bottom right order, going with the biggest items on top, and 1x1 ones on bottom. That way the last items will allways be 1x1 ones, and those cant be deleted/cut off.

I used to keep my sawedoff on the bottom of my backpack with 4x protector on top. Bad idea, cuz my sawedoff got sawedoff again :D (if i wasnt carefull). Its a simple fix, just organise properly.
ahhhh i see i see , thank for the info lads . will stack from the top from now on , thank you thank you

Even when you stack it properly, it's been glitching.
