It's funny because the other side is so hateful and divisive but constantly calls other people bigots......

They speak from both sides of their mouth... in one corner they champion bodily autonomy and the right to abortion while in the other corner try to mandate medical procedures because they were gas lit and manipulated into doing it so they take a childish public school approach and act as if "if I had to then they should too"

Don't get me wrong, their are plenty of morons and angry hateful people who walk around spamming the word woke without being able to articulate what they mean by that other then saying "far left libtards" but it doesn't mean that everyone is automatically a bigot or wrong because they don't share the same outlook as you.

This divisiveness and unwillingness to even try to hear each other out and plugging their own ears and screaming at the top of their lungs while in their echo chamber is everything wrong with todays politics. The internet was suppose to help people communicate with each other and share knowledge.... instead all they do is isolate in echo chambers and abuse reporting/ban systems to silence each other and become even more entrenched.

The last thing I am going to say is I remember when the left was more focused on the rich, classism, and the ever growing gap between the rich and the middle class while the gap between the middle class and the poor shrinks. That was about 5-10 years ago. Now the narrative has shifted and gotten away from that... back to being divisive and fighting each other . The middle class and poor fighting each other, while the rich 0.01% pull the strings from the top....... Don't you think it's odd that both the left and right sphere of legacy media are owned by the same people? That means they can influence the narrative of both sides..... pushing buttons and stoking fires.

I think it's time we put aside the left/right division and start focusing on the top/bottom division and classism.

(I grew up left but am now center... the problem is because I am center when I disagree with someone who is further left then me, they see me as "right of them" which means to them that makes me "right wing" even if I still fall under a social libertarian on the poliscale. On the flip side it's the same with the right. Right after your side finishes calling me a bigot for my opinion, the next tweet over, I will have a right winger who sees me left of him so assumes and calls me a "libtard" all in the same day)


My biggest gripe though are the people who report others simple for having an opinion they disagree with, and people who label others with labels to minimized and diminish their opinion so they can dismiss them outright. Sites like reddit encourage this behavior of Up voting and down voting every single comment. When I rarely downvote a comment on reddit, even if I disagree with it, simply because I respect their right to having that opinion... but many don't They will choose to try and silence them instead by giving them a negative ratio and having their comment hidden, or abuse the report system and have them automatically banned by bots, or biased mods)


Watch though. I made critical comments about both sides but only side will report this and try to get me banned. (For the most part, I'm not suggesting that everyone on one side does and nobody on the other does, it's deff a mix bag, although the ratio's for each side would be much different)

As for the game? I am excited to play an AC game set in Japan. I know my freind has been too. Though I do see the hypocrisy in it. There have been thousands of famous Japanese samurai and leaders that were honorable or important to Japans culture and history.... yet they went with the ONLY black samurai that ever existed to represent the very first game set in Japan in the AC series. I do agree that Yasuke has a very cool and interesting story that would be great for a tv show, movie or video game... It becomes controversial because their is clear current american culture/politics is influencing the decisions.

So the problem is that it would be much more respectful to Japan tot use someone from Japan to honor their history and culture for the first game set in the country. If it were a DLC or expansion or even a second or third game in the series then yes Yasuke would be perfect story.

Imagine they made the very first AC game based in Native America.... and they decided to use the first "white man to convert and join a Native American tribe" (whoever that may be, if even recorded in history) instead of a native american to portray the culture. Imagine they decided to make the very first AC based in the era and area of Incans/Mayans/Aztecs were thriving.... but then base the game on the first conquistador from Portugal/Spain. Imagine they made an AC based on the Romans.... and decided to tell the story about a Gaul/Celt/Germanic heck even a person from Carthage..... and Imagine they made a FIRST game based around Greece during Alexanders height (Yes I know they made a greek one already) and made the main character tell the story of a Persian or Scythian......

This is the LOGICAL reason why many people who you call "anti-woke" are taking Issue with the game. It isn't just because racism or bigotry or someone seeing a black character and female character and automatically hating on the game (and yes those people exist, there is no denying that) buy you also need to stop telling yourself that every single person who is taking issue with the game has that mindset..... I know why people do it... because it makes it easier to dismiss the other sides argument and reinforce your own... but it's only hurting everyone overall in the long run.

- Yasuke has been in other games and never been issue, why now? He did live in Japan
- There is Japanese character you play as, so you'll play as Japanese/.

You are Asian, can you explain why folks mad at Yasuke in game "and want to play as Japanese" are ignoring Naoe? Why is playing a female Japanese not enough ?

And StellarBlade preorder sales on PS5 being no1 globally was used as a point about how games are against censorship and want more attractive female characters and against wokeness.

So can't have it both ways as this folks do. Sales data not legit when doesn't support one;'s point, they are legit when the do :)

Yasuke was in both Nioh 1 & 2 as a samurai, yet we never heard a peep from the "anti-woke" crowd, which leads me to believe that if the Shadows trailer didn't show Yasuke, we would only hear from a much smaller group of whiners post-release.
It's almost become a pavlovian response with them, they see a black character in a trailer and they start foaming at the mouth.
