Thanks, I'm thinking it may be the keyboard of my laptop... It happens when I create a new project and add nothing to it. Thanks though!
No use. There is nothing in there like that. The arrow keys work fine for other games/software. Very strange.
EDIT: I have the same problem when playing "To The Moon" which is made with RPG Maker. I don't have this problem with any other game.
What version of windows you running?
Launch a RPG Maker game, at the title-menu press your F1 key to bring-up the game-properties box, click on the "Gamepad" tab. For each Button there, select nothing, the "-" option for each button. On the Keyboard tab, click on the "Reset" button. CLick OK to accept all the changes. Play your game, and see if you can now play with Keyboard without the problem occuring.
Also, on your keyboard, turn-off the Num-Lock key.
Have all USB devices unplugged.
Also, maybe restart your computer upon trying the above steps too (you may have to again turn-off the Num-Lock key if it automatically enables upon restart).
Another thing, if it still not work, try disabling then re-enabling the Num-lock key.
It made me ensure I was saving constantly, since I never knew when or if it would happen, and I was far from a save point.
I have tried restarting/shutting down my computer but with no luck.
The Num Lock doesn't seem to want to work either. I also tried unplugging everything (Including my hard drive XD) and none of that worked either. Like Amerk said though, apparently Vista has problems with running it. So potentially it's just my OS I'm guessing.
One other thing you might try; As you're running Vista, try setting VxAce to run in a compatibility mode of Windows XP SP3. See if that makes any difference. Good luck.
In Windows, navigate to where VxAce in installed,
Example path might be something like:
C:\Programs\Steam\Steamapps\Common\RPGVXAce
(of course it could be different on your computer)
In the RPGVXAce folder, find the RPGVXAce.exe, right-click on it, Properties, and Compatability tab. The option to choose a different Windows Compatability mode should be there. OK the changes, and try it again.
Alternatively you can try other compatability modes as well, or un-do the changes there if need be. Good luck.
