Play Movie Won't Work

I want to use a Windows Movie Maker credits scene at the end of my game, but when I try playing the movie in game, RPG Maker VX Ace playtester crashes. I put the movie in the movie file, I use the play movie event and when I trigger the event it crashes. Does anybody know why and how to fix it?

I've never used the Play Movie command, but i know that it takes a specific file extension (I believe it is .OGV). Is your movie the right extension?

No, I think it was an MP4. Is there any way to convert files from MP4 to .OGV?

You can convert it with VLC. At least that's what I use, since it's already handy.

Maybe you have VLC as video / audio player on your system? It can do it.

There are online services that convert your files, or stand alone programs. You might find some using Google searching for MP4 to OGG for example.

Go to > http://video.online-convert.com/convert-to-ogg <
Upload your video file
Make sure to enter the size : 544x416
Don't fill in anything else!
Click on "convert file"
You now have a video that works with rpg maker vx ace using the basic "play video" command :)
