Riding Grass Lawn Mower, what exactly is it good for?
I bought the cheap riding mower thinking I could cut the grass at my farm and make piles of grass, dry, then bale it but it turns out you can only dump the grass at the green grass mounds at the golf course or camp site. What good is it for than if it fills up with grass then can't be dumped anywhere? I have read that it is too slow to finish the lawn mowing missions as well. So is it just a novelty thing? I read in a post you can dump the grass directly to feed sheeps and cows; is this a fact? What other uses does this machine have?

I use it to feed the sheep trough, I actually keep it at the sheep farm and just mow around the area and when filled go dump it at the trough. I feed 100 sheep with it, little over 12000 grass for a 6 day supply which is max.
You can seel it at the one wooden building with the straw lieing around on the ground at your farm.
sell what? grass clippings?
yes the grass clippings.. you back up to it, in your main base.. the shack looking thing with scattered hay inside it and around the front of it.. but even then its only like 200$ or so for what you just mowed.. so more or less it seems you take more time to mow the grass and drive over to this shack just for 200$ roughly.
When trying to be smart I bought two of those mowers and parked them at the two grass cutting jobs but after seeing they cut too slow to win the mission I sold them and then got two of those cheap red tractors with the red mower blade that folds out to the right. At speed two they knock out the grass job in record time and I've more than paid off the cost of them. Having them permanently parked at the golf course and camp site leave zero down time driving around.

As far as the fork lift jobs, after many frustrations I have learned to just ignore every single one.

Ya, forklift jobs have tragic timers for the distance covered. I can only think that if I had the best frontloader available, that I might maybe be able to make those timers.

The one 5:20 mowing job at the golf course, I can complete in the riding mower with about 20s (maybe a little more) of time to spare. Certainly not efficient and you dont get the big timer bonus, but it works to start out. Now I use the little blue tractor with that red grass cutter. Way better than the riding mower. And your set-up with the red tractors is even more efficient.

I made it with 0 seconds first time I used the forklift and I spent a good 20 seconds loading the pallet. I sold all my tractors and kept the big green one as well as selling all your grain and roots and maxing your loan you can buy better equipment.
Hmm. Maybe I just have mad mowing skills but I was able to do both the south golf course and the north golf course missions with over a minute to spare with the riding mower. I even once got a time bonus of over a grand.
Oh and the trick to doing the pallet missions is to take your time and line up your forks just right. Once it is on tilt it all the way to you and raise it up about half way. Makes it so the pallet is more stable. I have also been known to take the front end loader down a mountain side while tapping the brakes and the fork all the way up and tilted back. If you pick a decent spot to do this you can shave half a minute off your time.
And yes I know that some missions are just impossible with the cheap front end loader. They are jsut too far. So I don't take many that have a time limit of over 5 minutes.
If you have to break immersion by driving off a mountain then I'm still not going to bother. I have enough to deal with at my farm and will take the grass jobs simply because I have a tractor and mow attachment at each area idling to go on a moments notice and can knock them out, get the $2k+ bonus, and be back at my farm in less than a minute.

I have made a few of the fork jobs before I quit doing them but the down time of driving to the spot then the time driving to the dropoff is just mind numbing and taking me away from my farm for too long.

I have no doubt that a high dollar loader is what works best for those missions but by the time you can afford one you wouldn't bother with them unless of course you expected to play UPS Simulator when you bought a farm sim lol.
LOL good point. Yeah if you got a few fields going, it does take you away from your farm for far too long.
You can set the frequency of the missions to 2, 5, 10, or 20 minute intervals, or none, iirc. This is in real time, I believe, not game time (lol!). It can be set by hitting "Escape" and tabbing through the top menus to the 'settings' page. After about a dozen or so FEL (front end loader) missions, I finally got to where I can get most of them (but it can be draining). I feel the same way using the Weidemann for the FEL missions as I do using the Amazone riding mower for the grass cutting missions. PITA lol!! ;)
did u guys know u can so those "mowe the grass" missions with a cultivator?
I saw that in a playthrough video with Giant Bomb, It leaves no grass clippings as well.
