liquid fuel engines... how do they work?!?
So after a long time I started playing this again, but I can't get the simplest rockests flying. Boosters work, but my liquid fuel engines not. I can't start it. I put the engine or motor directly under a tank. But it won't work. Did they change how that works or what??

EDIT: Ok I uninstalled all the mods and it works fine again. I'll figure out which one it was... Thanks for the hints.

I had that happen once before too but it was due to a mod I was useing, cant remember what mode but liquid rockets would not work with an unmaned ship.....only with a manned ship would it work. Anyway have you tried to launch the stock ship that came with the game, The Kerbal X Craft?

I guess the three things I'd check first are:
1) Has the engine been activated by staging? You can also force it on by right clicking and select Activate.
2) Are you throttled up? (left Shift key)
3) Are you using the right fuel tanks, not jet fuel? The tanks must have both liquid fuel and oxidizer.

The CORE rocket series mod does that with me.

I could be wrong but I am pretty sure you still can fly from jet engines but not as much as they as not as effective as fuel tanks for the rockets.
