Found this beauty after a moment of frustration in trying to strut some rover wheels, and sharing the goodness. Aside from obviously removing the annoyance of rockets falling apart through the kerbal engineering practice of attaching them together with paper glue, it should also help cut down on part counts when building larger craft.

you can easily and safely edit the game file to make your struts stronger

I take it back. While it does make my rovers usable in that they don't dramatically fly apart when running up against the slightest incline, this mod completely breaks all my rocket designs. I think a simple strengthening of the joints attaching rover wheels is what's indicated.
