Problems with the Junior Drill
When i try to use the mini-drill it says "Insufficient Resource Abundance - not at least 2,5%". I just dont get this, the problem is availability of resource in the area?? cuz there are resources there, i know this...

That screenshot doesn't tell us how concentrated the resources are on that spot on the planet. Unlike it's larger cousin, the mini-drill requires a certain concentration of resources present in the ground. I've seen it vary from below 1% to a rich 10%. You'll need to use a resource scanner to determine how rich any given spot on the ground is.

The M700 is supposed to give you a general idea about areas with many resources (although I've had some weird, unreliable results with it), at any rate there are ore scanners that will give you a precise reading of your current location (should be in the science tab), and if you use SCANSAT you can get precise orbital readings to find good spots.

Anyway, yes, you need at least 2.5% ore in the ground to use it, I don't think the same applies to the full-sized version.

Anyway, generally ore concentrations vary most strongly between different biomes and a bit within them (in my current save, the great flats of Minmus are at 0% pretty much all over, while the highlands go from 6-10%)

HMMMM thanks guys, but i cant just see the ore concentration on my Tracking Station, and i have a satellite with M700 with plenty electricity on a polar orbit. i can see the graphs when im flying the sat, but when i go to the trackstation it says "no resources data available"...
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??!?!?

The M700 only shows general areas, and not every spot in every high-value area has to have ore, there are surface ore scanners that work with landed vehicles, the magnetometer boom for example will tell you how much ore you're actually standing on if you extend it.

I got that, but why cant i see the ore graphs in the tracking station?!!?

I don't play career and i've not done much in regard to harvesting resources but I imagine you either need to upgrade your tracking station or your scanning satellite doesn't have an antenna. Just 2 things that spring to mind.

The ore overlays are a little finicky in my experience. Sometimes it'll work when I'm focused on the satellite. Sometimes it doesn't, but I can see it from map view. I haven't really gotten it to work from the tracking station myself.

There is a bug with that in 1.0.5

http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/124820-kerbal-space-program-105-new-issues-repository/

The tracking center is not showing the resource overlay, found by silversilver.

The resource overlay is not shown in the tracking center in 1.0.5, instead the TC says a scan needs to be performed.

The map and flight scenes are not affected.

Workaround.

Have to use the map or flight scene to view the resource overlay for now
