so without it, you don't get any of this stuff or is some of this rolling into the base game?
-personal parachutes
-new parts
-mission builder
-historic missions pack
-mission scoring
I see a future where some mods work with the dlc and some don't :\
So without buying the DLC, we don't get the following:
-Kerbal parachutes (there's a free mod for this. btw)
-New parts that probably were already in a free mod
-Mission builder (by this same logic, the Comm system in 1.2 must be sold as paid DLC)
-Historic missions pack
-Mission scoring
I know there are people who have a thing about DLC being the anti Christ but for a game that has been around as long as this, where the market sales are saturated, if you want more updates you need to expect them to find a way of funding that.
This is not the same as holding back on content to sell seperately on day one.
Remember the days when an expansion added a new campaign, new units, and basically expanded on the game?
That's what Squad wants to do.
Don't release DLC and stop developing the game because there's no way to finance it...people will complain.
Release a DLC that allows for core game updates to continue while offering something useful in an expansion...people will complain.
"new fuel tanks, adapters, decouplers, fairings and command pods"
I can't wait for this! I always felt like there where a few missing parts, like mk2 liquid fuel tanks, there where so many times I needed that but there are only mk0 and 1 and shuttle liquid tanks.
Standalone expansions I can forgive, but I doubt KSP's DLC will be in anyway standalone.
Alpha Centauri's Alien crossfire wasn't standalone either.
