Crashes on Radeon 5xxx XT
Hey y'all, we're currently seeing many random crashes on AMD Radeon 5000 XT-series graphics cards. My apologies for the situation :< We're working to figure out what's causing them, and I've reached out to AMD for help.

EDIT:

Please see this post for a beta patch with a workaround:
https://steamcommunity.com/games/2198150/announcements/detail/4705788605370014492

Since this crash seems to mostly trigger at the end of our loading screen, one thing you can try is to bypass this screen. If you right-click Tiny Glade in your Steam Library, and then choose Properties, then there's Launch options. If you put "--skip-splash" (without the quotes) there, the game will skip the loading screen, and go directly into gameplay. Perhaps the graphics driver will have a better time then.

// Edit: try this beta. It seems to fix the issue for at least some people: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2198150/discussions/0/4844274022647304464/?ctp=2#c4842022494089958995

The crashes seem to be most frequent in the Autumn and Winter glades, and loading those glades may put the game in a crash loop, as it will crash again after restarting. We have measures to prevent this, but they don't work because the crash happens randomly _after_ the glade has been loaded, so the game fails to catch the load failure.

If you're experiencing the crash loop, to break out of it, you can go to "C:\Users\USER_NAME\Saved Games\Tiny Glade\Steam\STEAM_ID\saves" (or similar if your Windows installation is on a different drive), and delete or move out the most-recently modified folder somewhere else - the game will load the next save then. Each save is a folder named with hexadecimal characters like "460ee43f-bbfd-46c2-ae8b-3d78ac970f79", and within you can see a "screenshot.jpg" that can help you identify which save file it is.

If editing saves by hand (or removing them), you will need to disable Steam Cloud in the properties of Tiny Glade, as otherwise Steam will restore the files, undoing your manual edits.

Sorry again for this situation. We'll try to resolve it as quickly as possible <3

It so far only crashes when i change map, it crashes on startup. So if i dont touch the map settings and play on summermap there isnt any issues for me. So it works if i reinstall the game and dont change map.

That is the same issue unfortunately. Thank you for the extra data!

AMD just helps us enjoy summer for a little longer ^^:
Thank you for the tips <3

Hello!

Seems the problem is with the "day map", because i dont have any other issue with the game so far except trying to play the day map (today: autumn one)

hugs!
Glad to come to discussions wiith my similar concerns and see that the developers are already looking into the issue! :CultPentagram::CultMoon: Blessings!!

Exactly what they said. Started the game this morning, selected the day map, game wouldn’t stop crashing afterwards. Finally deleted all game related files, re-installed and turned off the steam cloud backup (assume it was storing the day map selection). Been playing with no issues so far.

We shall, but AMD haven't responded yet, and it's night here, so I can't run to the store to get one of those problematic graphics cards to investigate locally ^^;

setting max FPS to 60, V-Sync on and Full Screen and turning off cpu eco helped out my wifes computer (so far) she has a 5600xt. Also go into the start up and select the vulkan version of amd and disable the steam one.

17adfbc6-9e0d-484f-ac91-4e680e52fa58 was my crash code, it kept crashing over and over unfortunately. I was really excited to play the game today, and bought it as soon as I saw it was out. I played tons of hours in the demo, and am so excited to start creating. Thank you guys for paying such close attention to our needs, and immediately trying to get this situation fixed. Unfortunately I am running a radeon rx 5700xt, so the crashing is in full swing. I will try the fixes you recommend and hope that works!

09d95012-5b80-4010-87f5-2852c77b135e is my latest crash code from placing a brick wall as the first building structure. I was only messing with terrain, water and trees before placing the wall and crashed. I'm on a 5700XT and was on a non-stop crash loop each time in the middle of the splash screen loading up (like mentioned earlier). What FINALLY made me get past the splash screen was disabling my Steam and Discord overlay. I also put the game into windowed mode once I was able to get into in-game settings.

What may also help is right clicking the .exe > Properties > Compatibility tab > Checkbox "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 8" > Checkbox "Disable fullscreen optimizations" > Checkbox "Run this program as an administrator", then click Apply and click Okay.

While this should be enough, you could also go the extra mile and change your display resolution to 1920x1080 if running a higher resolution monitor than that, or anything below that if you are using a 1080p monitor. I hope this may help someone so you can at least get started playing and get started terra-forming! I've been waiting to play this game to it's full potential since hearing about it years ago. You got this, devs!! 5xxxXTs need you right now ♥

Can you keep the current Daily Theme for a while longer until you have fixed this issue? I'm liking the look of the map but I just can't get around the issue at all being on the aforementioned GPU.
Switching to the daily theme is what crashed me

Just a stupid brainfart and guess...but are you doing something with Mesh-Shaders?
Navi 1x (RX 5000 Series) is lacking a few things here and there Feature-wise in terms of Graphics-Features (DX12 and also maybe Vulkan).
Maybe this could be a problem...
