The patch was supposed to be uploaded last week. Loving the game, soundtrack and the effort put into it, but those bugs (like slowmotion in my case) really ruin the experience. When can we really expect the patch?

- spontaneous crashes. Sometimes after I completed the level and went to the car - bam, crash
- messed up controls
- lags
- it's dark there....but the game moves on
- ...

Calling the devs liars is a rash judgement; I'm sure they had every intention of releasing the patch on the dates given. It's a real pain that the patch has been delayed, as it is clearly sorely needed; but there's no need to sulk.

Biggest thing for me is the hard freezing. If that's taken care of, I would go back to this game a lot more.

I've been lucky not to experience the more severe problems such as the hard freezing or game killing errors, but I can imagine it's frustrating business. I really hope that the patch is released in the next few days, it's a shame people are missing out on this game.

The game worked pretty good on my pc. It crashed only one time and since then I cant really play it, because there isn't any mask available anymore. Even after I reinstalled it and played the intro... all masks unavailable... even the first mask WTF!!
Patch please, I wanna play this awesome game.

You can fix the mask problem by opening the 'saves' file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\hotline_miami with notepad, and changing all the 1's to 0's apart from the first one, then you will have the first mask unlocked but not the others.

I'm definitely in the same boat here. I'm just wanting to the play the game, but I can't even get past the splash screen where it locks up. Hearing nothing from the developers, even a "sorry, we're still working on the patch", is very disappointing.

There have been numerous posts from Dennis in the update threads on this discussion board.
Here is one of the most recent, including an apology:

'Hey everyone! so, while fixing one thing made another part of the game behave a bit wierd... made some changes but wanna playtest some more to see that it works fine! sorry for the delay! as soon as possible, promise!'

They also posted this in the last hour:

'Well hell, still working to make sure the patch helps on certain issues but will tweet once it's good. Sorry and thanks for the patience. '
