My thoughts on Hotline Miami
I first purchased Hotline Miami as a daily deal during the Christmas Sale 2012 because it just had a 80's vibe to it. I am not a fan of ultra-gory games at all and I think Indie games tend to release "Retro" games too much. But Hotline Miami was a different story.

I like puzzle games sometimes and not obvious ones. This was a puzzle game to me with shooter elements. Pretty interesting but what made me play more of HLM was the storyline. A bit vague, mysterious but way too interesting (I'm not done playing so I don't know how the story ends). So far, the storyline is well-written and requires you to think like your solving clues to story as well as solving puzzles in the actual gameplay. A good mix. This, in my opinion is one of the key factors for games to enjoyable is to have an interesting storyline in the mix. Otherwise, Hotline Miami would get boring after a few levels if it had a meaningless story to it or no story at all.

I also think the music is great. Great piece of soundtrack here.

So I am looking forward to a sequel that's much more expansive and tactical. I had fun with this "Trial and Error" kind of game.
