Is your game crashing? - My fix

So this huge patch came out I guess about a month ago. I've been a player since the game came out. I've been playing on my steam copy for about 2-3 years. When this patch came out my game started crashing as soon as the menu tried to load, so I couldn't even get to the game menu's. I found a post here that fixed it. The fix for me was to go to C:\Users\(my profile)\Documents\World in Conflict open the game options.txt and change "myDX10Flag 1" to "myDX10Flag 0"
I'm Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.

Where do find this? In Steam? In the drive I installed the game? I am lost and can't figure out where you guys are adjusting these settings. I installed this game onto my G: drive and I can't even locate the game there now that I am looking for it to see if I can find the files.

Well my memory is fuzzy, but i think it depends on what OS you have. In Windows 7 it's something like C:\Users\(my profile)\Documents\World in Conflict. You'll find other game data in that area too if you have other games installed. For Vista it's slightly different. You open explorer, your file manager to get there, and open the file in notepad.exe to edit it.

Also "My Documents" but if you're in a different OS the patch may be different.
