Steam Deck button cease to work midgame

I have a weird problem on the Steam Deck. After a while, the buttons cease to work in the game. The only option I have is to end the game using the Steam Deck menu and restart the game. If I am lucky, my last save is not too far from where the button stopped working.

I try the game with and without GE proton (with different version), the problem still exists.

Is it after using a Steam Button Chord command (STEAM+X to pull up keyboard for example)? Or after opening the Quick Access Menu (... button)? Sometimes the Steam Deck doesn't like to exit Chord mode until you open the Steam overlay and close it again.

No, it's during a normal play session, without using the steam buttons or functions.
