Scribblenauts Unlimited
[UPDATE Feb 5th: More hardware now supported!] Do you meet system requirements?
Update Feb 5th: We have released a public beta patch that fixes many of the crash-on-launch issues, even for hardware that does not meet minimum specifications. Please see this thread for details! http://steamcommunity.com/app/218680/discussions/0/864958451767277608/

Hi Everyone,

We’re getting a ton of support e-mails from people that don’t meet minimum requirements to play Scribblenauts Unlimited. I’ve decided to create a short tutorial on how you can check for yourself if you can run Scribblenauts.

CPU:

1. Open a run command (windows+R)
2. Type in: dxdiag

It should start up in the system tab. Take a look at the ‘Processor’ on this tab. Make sure that it has at least 2 CPUs and it’s at least 2GHz. You won’t be able to run Scribblenauts if your system is under this specification.

UPDATED!!!!
----We have a beta out right now for those of you are using the AMD C-50, C-60, or C-70 processor. Please contact support@5thcell.com with your DXDiag and we will provide you the password. We hope to roll this out to all users soon.

Video Card:

Your graphics card needs to have at least 256MB of dedicated video memory, and must support Shader Model 3.0. If it does not meet those requirements, you will not be able to play Scribblenauts.

UPDATE Feb 5th: With the release of the public beta patch, we have introduced limited support for cards running Shader Model 2.0. Examples are the Intel 945G, GMA 3100, and G33/31 chipsets. If you have purchased Scrib and been told you didn't meet system requirements, I highly recommend you try subscribing to the Beta. Details are available at the top of this post.

Navigate to the ‘Display 1’ tab in the DXDiag (just one tab over from the systems tab when we checked your CPU). Take a look at the ‘Name’ under ‘Device’. The numbering scheme for video cards is actually confusing since an Nvidia 7800 is actually worse than an Nvidia GeForce 670 even though it has a bigger number. I’ll keep updating the list but we’ve been seeing a lot of these video cards that don’t meet minimum requirements:

GeForce MX420
Radeon X300

Hey! I was one of those people! XD
I can run scribblenauts with my bad laptop, but its pretty slow.
Here are my specs :
Proccesor : Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU P6100 @ 2.00GHZ (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
Graphics Card : Intel(R) HD Graphics
Atleast I can still play the game though, Its so much fun I even play it with slow down.
(I get like 10, 5, fps or something.)

Go in your task manager when the game is running. Find scribble.exe. Right click and set priority to low. This should speed your game up.

There is a programming oversight where threads aren't being slept that causes 99% cpu use. So if they forgot to sleep one thread the game has effectively turned your 2ghz dual core into a 2ghz single core; if they forgot to sleep multiple threads then it becomes a 0ghz 0 core.
Setting priority to low will give time back to the system, at the cost of a slightly slower game. A quick programming fix would really speed it up though.

Or u cud just go to systemrequirementslab.com and click on Scribblenaughts Unlimited to see if you cud run it. it looks like I cant :(
nooooooo i have Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family how do I get a better one?
I have a NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT. Is that good enough to run it?
hurr hurr people using Intel cards
Ok that was mean, but seriously, the two brands you want for graphics cards are NVIDIA or ATI, take your pick, their cards are compatible with lots of things.

Intel runs quite a few games lol
what about intel hd graphics?
what if i have 1.0ghz D: i really want my moneysworth of ths fricken game
Maybe I should have said "I've seen a lot of forum posts here and on other sites where people will complain of graphic problems that can all be traced back to Intel cards" as a more constructive advisement.
Pentium D 945 and Radeon HD 5450. Can I play it?
Edit: Got the game and (so far) it runs flawlessly. No lag!
