Ultimate Edition Bundle Changes
What's good Heisters?

We'd like to announce that we are going to change the Ultimate Edition on Steam to address the gifting issue some of you mentioned as well as to offer the best possible experience for our new and veteran heisters out there.

What is going to change?
We are moving the PAYDAY 2 Base Game out of the Ultimate Edition Bundle and making it available to buy again for a reduced price of $9.99 instead of $19.99.

Why are we doing this change?
The reason behind this change is that we'd like to give all people that don't own PAYDAY 2 a low entry point to enter the world of quality heisting! Additionally, a lot of you asked to make the Ultimate Edition giftable, so they could get their friends ready to heist. This is unfortunately not possible due to how our bundle works on Steam, but this is no issue for the PAYDAY 2 Base Game, means you can now gift it to your friends again!

How will this affect the Ultimate Edition Bundle?
The Ultimate Edition Bundle will stay the same! The only change is that we remove the PAYDAY 2 Base Game which will reduce the price for the Bundle by $19.99.

Can I still upgrade for a reduced price?
If you already own any DLC for PAYDAY 2 you can still upgrade for the same reduced price as you could before!

S'later,

Some people will still complain about they can't buy DLC one by one. Oh well.

I already own UE but i think this is great news as many people dont really care about dlcs in games (no matter how good they might be) and they just want to save a bit of money and only buy the base game.

Nice! The next step should be bringing back individual DLC purchases. That way you would minimize the number of people who come to the forum and complain.

So let me get this straight. If the base game is removed from the bundle, that means you must buy the base game first, then upgrade with the bundle right?
The bundle will no longer work on its own?

Just trying to get the details.

I guess? I mean, you can just buy the basegame and the dlc bundle simultaneously if you wish.

Remember, they're also taking the original game price out of the bundle itself, so it's not like you're paying more for it.

People can buy the base game for 10$ now. The "Ultimate Ediiton" name isn't just there for no reason. The Ultimate Edition containts 70% of the game. This is why its name is the ULTIMATE EDITION.
People will still complain tho.

This. Oh so very much this.

Still, this is definitely a welcome step in the right direction. Far too many people were getting ripped off via third-party traders.

Yeah they are kind of forcing me to buy some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ virtual costumes, which I won't even get to see in VR, so yes great news indeed! /s

...what the hell are you on about?

The entire point of US was to level the playing field so that anyone who bought the game all got the same content. Having them individually buyable would negate the entire point.

And decrease the sale, since the reason to pack them all in the first place is stopping the confusion about which DLCs give which stuffs and reduction of "Which DLCs should I buy?" question.

If packed, you will get "Why I can't buy DLCs seperately?"
If not, you will get "Which DLCs should I buy?"
You cannot please everyone.

It would be cool if you would make it possible for players to give each other UE for the price offered to player whom UE is being sent to.

As explained above, you can't gift a dynamicly priced bundle.

The only way you can gift the UE is when you send your friend a steam gift card.
