[SOLVED] XBox 360 controller right stick mapped wrong
I'm having an issue with the xbox 360 conrtoller, where the vertical of the right stick is mapped to looking left/right, and the right trigger to up/down,. The result is that as soon as I get ingame my guy looks straight at the sun. Pushing the right stick up/down to change the view makes him turn left/right. Pushing left/right has no effect. I can use the right trigger to change the vertical aim though, but that's not really workable.

Since there appear to be no options ot remap the axes of the controller, how does one fix this?

System: Linux Mint 17.2, kernel 3.16, xboxdrv 0.8.5

Update:

Found the issue. Seems to work fine with the xpad driver, but not with xboxdrv. The latter is required for some other games, and is the only way to get the LEDs around the xbox button to work correctly (getting the correct one to light up when the controller connects, instead of having the entire ring flash all the time).

SOLUTION:

For those who stumble upon this post, having the same issue, the solution was to call xboxdrv with the --mimic-xpad startup flag. That way, it also gets recognised by more games. I noticed some games didn't recognise the controller. And some did, but failed to recognise the right analog stick.

Thank you for this post! You have actually solved an issue I was having in a game that we are developing. Turns out that anything made in Unity also requires the --mimic-xpad flag in order to properly interpret the right analogue stick, yet this is the only place I've found that information.

Cool, cheers! What game, if I may ask?
