Feedback on the new XP system
Hey guys,

The new XP system has been up and running since the 7th of May, and we are glad to see everyone's feedback. The ambition with the new system was to reward everyone more equally, no matter their playstyle. The recent beta was a great success where a few large issues got weeded out and patched. Since then, with the community's support we've kept on improving the system. With this thread, we'd like to give you guys the opportunity to share any additional bugs or feedback you might have regarding the XP system's changes. We greatly appreciate it and read all of your feedback. Our ambition is to keep on improving the XP system to ensure it's a great experience for everyone.

On behalf of me and the rest of the crew, thank you!

Nice job guys, still considering how bags that players keep on their back don't count at the end of a heist, it would be nice to find a solution for Mallcrasher where there are no other options but to carry the four bags in order to make them count which is a bit unfair tbh.

Also is it normal that the players that join after the alarm on Mallcrasher don't get any xp ? Maybe the xp requirements should be put on the escape like with Four Stores instead of the alarm.

There are some heists that don't give enough exp in relation to their difficulty/time/number of bags. For instance, I know you wanted to get rid of SR rush, but now it is worthless to do the normal way. Train heist is another one whose exp does not reflect its difficulty. I'm sure I am forgetting a few, but I haven't played every new heist.

Also, I know it increases the amount of things saved by the host, but it would be really nice to have objectives saved per player. Nothing is more upsetting than losing connection halfway through, and by the time you get back, you lose all the work you put forward.
Thanks for making the thread Danijel, and I hope we can help you provide user experience in order to make a good system that's good for everyone.
Now on the topics that sting a bit : as Ninja c. said above, SR rushing was a plague for you we get that, but still is a SERIOUS pain in the bottom to get so many bags in DW and not being properly rewarded for it.
I get it that the new system rewards you for objectives done and not only bags but bonus bags should reward you way more than they currently do. Looking at you Big bank, SR, Go bank eventually, all of the transport heists which are generally difficult and a pain to do in DW(Crossroads anyone?). And more important to me, is Car shop. Each car worth a house in Georgetown? Okay, so if our crew can pull out being excellent drivers, I say, why not having a good bonus for actually having the four cars secured?
And oh, PLEASE fix the bug where only the host has EXP for this job, it's a very painful thing to not receive anything for your work, really.

My solution for the Shadow Raid nerf is that if an ECM is placed within 5 minutes of the end of the heist, you dont get the bonus xp for the extra bags. Or if an ECM is placed at all during the heist, but that seems slightly more drastic.

I've gotten bugs where I get no XP for completing Car Shop or Hotline Miami. I joined late on Hotline Miami, but I helped kill the Commissar, revived players, killed plenty of specials, and even secured some bags. I was there at least 10 minutes, but I didn't get anything.

Car Shop, on the other hand, I was in since the beginning. As I was told by the other players, I stayed maskless for a good portion of the heist, spotting guards and locating objectives. I masked up to kill a guard and hack the computer, got a car in the container, and made it to escape and got nothing again.

I've been told it's a bug where if I don't hit a certain node somewhere on the level, the condition that would grant me XP at the end of a heist never ticks or something. But is there only one node on these levels?

Fix the XP rewards on Shadow Raid, Dockyard and Train Heist. Leave them as pre-update if you don't know how to fix ECM rush.

Yeah, the first thing I noticed going into this new XP system, is that shadow raid and art gallery are pointless, they give next to no XP even on death-wish for their difficulty. Full stealthing death-wish art gallery solo with the "clowns are scary" soundtrack playing was intense, and when I got the 6 of 7 paintings out, and it was equivalent to a normal game of train.

Skills only reset after restart game please help

I'd rather not have the ability to use ecms in shadowraid than get such low exp for it. I say hike up the experience and either make an excuse for the lack of ecms or judge the mission reward also on a time basis.

The forest jobs give way less xp than before which is a shame considering they are my favorite heists!! Also, everything mentioned above is true. Train heist is very difficult and doesnt seem to scale with more bags.

I just want to say that the new XP system is better, but has it's flaws:

- Shadow raid gives very low xp, if you want to get rid of rushing just remove the bin pickup asset. Even is people say it's a ♥♥♥♥ move just ignore them, if you don't want this in your game, just remove it.

- There is no point in joining other games in progress anymore as you will not be rewarded full XP; If the heist has multiple days 0 XP will be awarded for player who joined after day 1. (hotline miami is an example)

I think the XP on shadow raid is a joke now. I know there's the problem with ECM Rush but why do all players get less XP. You have to get 24 bags to get like 400K XP.

And like Durandil said ...transport heists are very hard and you don't get much XP. At the moment most people do Bank Heists, Diamond Store or Rats. I think you have to balance the XP for all heists.

But overall i like the XP update ...it's a motivation to get as much loot as possible.

I think the main problem with the new system is how ambiguous it is, especially for new players. There is no way of knowing that cooking extra meth on Hotline Miami gives them extra XP.
To my eyes the solution is rather simple, just add an XP value to the notification you get from depositing bags into a dropoff point. Also making the bag requirements more gradual instead of the everything-or-nothing system would help in some cases, accidentally losing a single ingredient on Rats suddenly tanks the amount of XP you get form the job even if you manage to get the other six bags.

We need more endless heists like Cook Off and White Christmas! Something Alesso Heist but instead of two bags falling out of the holes, more and more continually to periodically fall out. With the XP system in place rewarding xp based on bags, I would really like to see a bigger heist (Casino?) with this system in place.

Feedback on XP:
Shadow Raid needs to be balanced.
There simply is no incentive to do it.

Set up the XP System so that if you leave or are disconnected, the game will remember your steam ID or smth so that you don't get as severe of a reduction.

Giving XP based on time played is a good idea, I support it. Would be nice to get some XP after failed mission based on time as well. I remember that I spent 2 hours failing heists as a new player with no rewards whatsoever...
