Or due to woke problems.
Or due to more DEI being forced into the game because its too much white maleness for them.
this
GW has been guilty of anti-fan practices for years. And don't @ me with the Femstodes crap because they broke the lore the moment they added Primaris Marines to the tabletop.
Come June they're trying to raise their prices, again, even though it's already been proven that the boxes containing the sprues are more expensive to produce than the actual miniatures. Stop giving these corpo scum money whether it's for video games or tabletop.
If you will excuse me I have about 5000 points of Chinese recast orks to paint.
Well, yeah. They've raised prices about every two years. Corporate greed goes hard
I wish I could do recasts, but I really enjoy the entire process. I love building and painting the minis, and recasts don't typically have the building aspect
I'm stuck with either direct or NOS. I wish you luck with the orks! Painting a horde army suuuucks at times but once you got it done, it's gonna look ♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome on the table
You should revisit recasts then. Most of the better ones (Ukrainian, Russian and Chinese ones) just recast the entire sprue so you can still build, kitbash, etc. There is genuinely no reason to continue giving GW money at this point for anything on tabletop (unless you just really like Citadel paints I guess?)
Back in the day, though, you're not wrong. They were just like "here's a fully-assembled dude gimme a couple bucks" lol
Oh real ♥♥♥♥? I'll check em out again. The only real issue I got with GW atm just their regular price hike so I'll still grab the paints. I've mostly just been buying to support my FLGS though. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ love em
I remember buying a Skorphek Lord on eBay a bit ago and it was a pre built cast. I was so sad, but at least I got to try a new painting technique with them!
The only downside is that shipping time can get really long but I don't mind it. Most of the stuff GW puts out is made in China anyway so why is it wrong when I do it? :P
Also, apparently even GW can't even tell recasts from their own products if that White Dwarf scandal is true.
Eh shippin times aren't a biggie. Just gives me more time to work on the models I do have before getting new ones
The real question is if I actually will or if I'll procrastinate lmao
I'll probably only be buyin paints and the occasional model from my FLGS then. At least I never bought tools, aside from the large model handle. Never thought $35 was worth it for a scalpel when there's an $8 kit on Amazon with scalpel, snippers, and files all together
