Which Ending is Canon?

It was an unexpected but pleasant surprise to see this announced at Future Games Show!
I'm assuming either ending from Call of the Sea could be canon, since this game could take place either after Norah passed away or after she left to become a mermaid.

Personally I chose the "stay with Harry" ending and vastly prefer it--I think I'd rather die surrounded by loved ones than live alone forever as a thrall of an elder god lol

I wonder if they'll pick a canon ending or let you pick which ending you got from the last game, which might change a few voice lines or story encounters.
What do you all think?

Well, considering this quote from game description - "they search for the truth about their missing loved ones", I'd say mermaid ending is canon.

I think it will be an unrelated story. The old man is from the first game right?
Maybe he will talk with bitterness in his voice but won't reveal his past.
Because no matter the ending of the game, his wife will be gone either way.
Gone to another world or "gone" gone from life due to sickness.

Well, we now know:
If you say you played the first game you can pick. I haven't checked to see which it is if you say you haven't (which I guess would technically be the "canon" one; or heck maybe you get the choice anyway and that question is for something else)

Yeah... Deep Ones... mermaids. Certainly not the type that is the wet dream of sailors. Father Dagon and Mother Hydra sure didn't spawn Arielle out of a Disney movie.
