How To Buy And Sell Items And Equipment ?

Greetings.

I am playing valilla FE and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to buy and sell items from my ivnentory. I have been away from the game for awhile I though this could be done from the inventory screen. I am super frustrated, what am I missing? I have searched the Internet, no luck.

mmm i think the characters have to be in the vicinity of a town with a market. Normally you can trade items between the main characters/hirelings/etc if your next to a town you'll get the buy/sell option. Thats how you buy the new magic /armor gear that you research.
