This is the single worst made game Ive ever had the displeasure of trying to play. Without Vsync on it causes my GPU to hit 98C, but if you turn it on it forces 30 FPS and causes the game to look, feel, and play like its running at 10fps.

So your options are either downgrade your system to the point where it can just play the game at 60fps, or play it as is and allow your video card to melt. Really wish I could get a refund for this chunk of ♥♥♥♥

HIlarious how im being told my PC is crappy (and having people link their ♥♥♥♥ computers saying theirs is better) when the issue is my PC is running the game too ♥♥♥♥ing well and the coding of the game itself is utter ♥♥♥♥. Im getting 300+ fps which is causing the overheating. Serious Sam 3 plays at 250 fps and Team Fortress 2 plays at around 320 fps. Neither of these games bring my card up to 60 C.

Plus all you fanboy jackasses forgot that the developers atually added a sticky on this forum to a mod that removes the microstudder caused by the keyboard due to the horrid coding of this game.

How people can be such rabid shills for a company they have no personal or financial stake in will always blow my mind.

So good for you the game works fine on your ♥♥♥♥ laptop, the issue is not the game running poorly, its how poorly it handles computers with far higher specs than needed, maybe the issues is just Nvidia, or a specific chipset, either way this is the only game out of a 300+ game library (in steam alone) that causes overheating period.

maybe your card is on its way out, they only last 2 years max, i had a similar problem and found it was my card over heating, which is the first signs of telling you its on its way out, I bought a new card and all is well so problem with the game on full details

This is the only game that causes any issues. Of the 600+ games I own, not a single one causes my PC to break the 60C mark. Even trying to force settings I know my PC cant handle such as witcher with ubersampling and everything on ultra hovers around 55. There is no reason this singular game should run this hot, and im not the only person with this issue, a quick google shows hundreds of gamers in the same boat.

The only fix ive been able to work out is forcing V-Sync through Nvidia control panel (in game Vsync is ♥♥♥♥ much like the rest of this game's programming) and using a controller (as mouse/keyboard causes awful lag at any frame rate).

So if you are encountering the same issues as I am, simply force Vsync through your video card software, and use a controller to fix the microstudder that happens when moving ( this is what makes 60 fps feel like 5fps).


Somehow they managed to ♥♥♥♥ up the very controls of this game for PC so baddly it forces you to use a controller (the very reason I sold my ps3 copy)

No temp issues, no graphics issues, no stuttering, no control issues, keyboard or controller.

Game works fine. Just because it doesn't for you, either on older hardware or whatever, but you're the only person with these issues.

As I said, this game is ♥♥♥♥. Its poorly made and the devos dont care enough to fix common problems.

I guess if you ignore the fact that a modder took it upon himself to try to fix the microstudder present in the game, or the fact that the devos have admitted its an issue and have made that mod a sticky post on the forums, then you also ignore the hundreds of other people who have overheating issues with this game and this game only, Sure its my PC...

You’re not alone. My GPU spikes in temps, DIR Vsync makes it choppy and I ended up having to play it uncapped which leads to a warmer GPU. Had one crash and that was only an audio problem, DIRHelper fixed it a bit. Forcing the Vsync still made my game choppy and uncapping was my only option.

The game has a lot of performance issues! It is not always hardware related as other people are claiming. I can be at 250+fps and I go into an empty corridor or jungle scene devoid of the undead/living and it will gradually drop to a 150+ then to 80+ then it will hit 50 and below and slowly rise back to 150+. This happened to my 700-series and to the 600-series, even heavy fight scenes do not drop that bad, fighting a line of Zombies about 5+ a thug and a screamer and my Fps stayed above 100+ maybe a little dip but not a lot. It is just the game. But DI for me was never as bad as Riptide, another shake and bake game, “All aboard the sequel money train”

I only purchased this game because of the price drop; never again will I drop £30+ on another DI game till I get solid performance reviews.

From what Ive gathered that choppyness is due to the way mouse and keyboard input is handled in the game. Which is to say as poorly as coding will allow. Its not lag per say but whats called "microstudder", some configurations get it, and some dont. I managed to make it somewhat playable by forcing Vsync through the NVIDIA control panel so my video card wont ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ melt (since the in game vsync is stuck at the console FPS cap of 30) and using that mod to reduce input lag so it doesnt look and feel like 5fps even when its running at a rock solid 60fps. But honestly this whole thing has left such a bad taste in my mouth I cant look past this games retarded mechanics like I did in the last game, and I just dont find it fun now.

I mean ffs the hitboxes for zombies are around 4 feet infront of their bodies, and the controls just feel flat out slugish. Not worth my time. Im just glad I only wasted 3 bucks on this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

The funny part is I purchased this game for the ps3 last year and ended up trading it in because it just ran like utter grabage, the frame rate at any given time couldnt have been higher than 20.

Dont think Ill ever waste my money on another Deep Silver turd again.

The overheating has to do with your computer being "too good" for the game. The more frames you render the more work load is put on your GPU. When you start rendering 300+ fps it causes the card to get VERY hot VERY quickly. As for the keyboard microstudder, lucky you. It makes 60fps look feel and respond like its running at 5.

And for god sake man get more ram, unless you are using windows XP you barely even have enough ram for the OS alone let alone video games. You will see a MASSIVE boost in frame rates with just another 2 gigs added.

Well I can't help you with your technical difficulties, also because I didn't encounter any of those problems so far. I'd just like to say that you can't really blame a game because of it's technical difficulties and bugs. Yes of course, it might be true that it is a bad console port, and that this might cause some trouble. But all in all it's a very fun game to play and I really enjoy it.

You always have players with technical difficulties even in the best supported games. I myself had some really bad issues with Battlefield 3 and 4, that made both games not playable for a long time. Not many people had this problems and there is still no fix till this day. But beside those problems both games are in my opinion very good and I don't blame the developers for the issues that my pc is showing. It's hard to program a game to be super stable and not causing any trouble, because there are so many different systems out there, which may respond different to the game. And because the game is not the newest, it might not work with the newest hardware and the developers might not focus any longer on bugfixes, because there are so many new Dead Island titles on their way.

I hope you will be able to fix your difficulties some day to enjoy the fun this game offers. And maybe then your opinion might change ;)
