Fieldrunners 2
Elite Units?
53 hours played, and only seen the flying ace about 20x. Haven't seen a single red baron, panzer, or anything. I can run into flying ace on "home on the derange", "broken branch", and "tangled turnpike". But no others have shown up. I've seen videos of the panzer showing up on the "frying pan", and the red baron on "twisted fate". But I've had no luck. Must've played "twisted fate" 35x or so on heroic. Is my game bugged? Or are they really THAT rare?

Maybe they could set it so that if you have "X" score by "Y" round then "Z" elite unit appears?

Or if a developer could give us the criteria of what spawns the elites. Like what maps, and the % chance of it appearing, or if difficulties matter, etc. There's no solid information out there.
Elite units do show up randomly, but don't expect to see them on a daily basis.

Here is a list I compiled:

Red Baron : Twist of Fate/Tangled Turnpike
Flying Ace : Home on Derange/Twisted Turnpike
Lt Sakai : Curious Gorge
Night Fokker : Bizarre Bazaar
Hindenburg : Cardio Canyon
Zeppelin : Dryer Straights
Legendary Panzer : Frying Pan/End of Doom
Legendary Tiger : Ring of Fire/End of Doom
And just to add, I have never seen one appear in the endless mode waves. I've gotten Flying Ace to appear a few times on heroic on Home on Derange and I think they were all somewhere between wave 30 and the final wave.
True, they'll also show up on casual and Tough.
So if they don't show up before Final Wave, don't expect to see them in Endless Mode?
Yes, all of this is confirmed. I find that if you space your gameplay out, say once a week, and play 2-3 times on the maps that'll spawn the elite unit you're looking for then you'll encounter them more often than not. Confirmed as I did get one each week for 3 weeks.

And yes, elite units only show up before the Final Wave on each level and typically not until half of the waves are completed. There's no need to play in endless mode as they won't appear, but I do recommend finishing the final wave and then restarting so you'll slowly collect more coins.

Lmao :)
this is the only one thats eluding me
got it. now i just have to wait 5 months for the last one...
Old thread but in case some are interested I found that not selling tower and getting perfect round in a row (so you can lose a few live at the beginning but nothing after, say, round 10) help getting them to pop.
Might be score related, in which case combo should help (Nuke is your friend here ...)
definitely keep a mine for Sakkai, I can't see how to kill him without one ...
Just a quick heads up to say it's purely a random chance they appear per designated level. There's no actual triggers other than hitting that genuinely random chance. Confirmed by the developers as we were putting together the official FR2 strategy guide.
Well, if I were to create a stats spreadsheet about my personal experience I would definitely prove the devs to be wrong :p
Not saying they are lying, just pointing the fact it's easy to find pattern where there is none if trying hard enough ! ^^
Also known as coincidence ;) Bottom line; they told us it's programmed to be a random chance every play of each applicable level. Any pattern would be coincidence (based on the devs information).
