Do NOT play ZC2 without playing its Tutorial/Prologue first!
I'm adding this note prior to the game's launch, to make sure everyone experiences the game at its best.

The tutorial and prologue of this game are on a separate menu, right beneath play game button.

Do not go into the game without playing this first!!! The combat mechanics and explanations of past events are all there.

Don't miss it even if you played the first. The combat mechanics had several improvements and changes, and you will not be able to execute any of the advanced moves without learning them here. And if you didn't play the first game, the story will be much harder to understand.

The reason the tutorial is kept apart from the main story mode was because in ZC1 players would forget the advanced moves and play the rest of the game with no way to remember them. In ZC2 you can save your progress and try out the tutorial as many times as you want. The tutorial has some advanced techniques that will require practice and timing, and going through them to refresh combat skills can be a good way to make the game more enjoyable.

IT'S A TRAP! 29/abr/2013 às 13:18
Thanks for the heads up!

I too thank you for the heads up! I was going to skip the tutorial because I had played through the first ZC this afternoon to get myself warmed up.

Sorry to say this; but I beat the living hell of both Metamoque and the Hunter with little trouble. Although I have played plenty of challenge mode.

Metamoque was weeping profusely by the time I finally let him win.

Ah cool, will keep this in mind. First Person Hadouken, here I come!

I think a moves menu should be added to the pause menu like what most fighting games have. Makes it a little easier if you just need to remember the inputs over just practicing them in the tutorial.

Just finished tutorial and gotta say it was very well done
Great way to teach the new tricks and bring players up to speed

Thanks. Now it's much more fun after learning some new moves from tutorial :) But it would be nice if you gave us the option to skip to next combo manually, so we could train every combo as much as we like.

Eduardo: You can still hit Metamoq in any sequence and practice your combos as much as you like. An important note is that the combos can be mixed up a bit...

right, right, left, hold right

also works:

left, right, left, hold left

left, left, right, hold right

The general rule is that if you swap left to right during a combo you get the opportunity to chain into a strong uppercut.

In other words:

Any combo of less than three hits chains into a regular strong punch.

A combo of three hits can chain into a launcher uppercut.

To get more than 3 hits you need to swap arms.

you might have added in the turorial that you have to aim where you hit
if i try the 5 hit launcher combo
and i start aiming at the face
it wont do the uppercut
but if you aim at the stomache it does

i havent figured out on how doing the kick since the body flies away after the uppercut
ok got it have to be very fast i think the timing is a bit hard :)

Yeh sometimes the body flies away and you can't kick it. But mostly or at least normally it just stays in the same spot.

The tutorial rocks, I had no problems doing the combos once I got the timing down,

you gotta be QUICK to get that kick, Slick...!

Man, this game is sick...
Well i have completed tutorial 4 times and still fight like ♥♥♥♥♥ :(

Combat tip: When you ragdoll an enemy you get one free strong kick before he uses 'shield' (flashes red) while standing up. All additional kicks will not be able to stop him (unless he loses all health).

A good thing to do is (if you have enough power bar) hit with the attack1+attack2 (hammer punch) while he stands up. You can then follow with the uppercut-> kick-> forward+attack1+attack2 combo for extra massive damage (you'll probably KO).

When an enemy breaks your grapple the game slows down and there's a circle with an exclamation mark in it indicating where you should punch. My question is when you land that first hit are you supposed to do anything after that or just watch the slow-mo?
[ACE] cbordeu  [desenvolvedor(a)] 8/mai/2013 às 15:53
When you are punching the face of a character in slo-mo there's nothing left to do after. Just watch his face deform with the punch :)
